I would argue that old-school psychology (not psychiatry, which is the pill-pushing impulse which leads to transition) has not been given enough of a chance. But let's assume you're correct, it's binary, either your option A or B;

I dispute this. Suicide-rates, addiction, depression, and other mental-illnesses are statistically almost unchanged between pre- and post-op/transition trannies (i.e. GID-sufferers). So really, what we've done is:
1. Spend money (in many countries, including the US under some circumstances, taxpayer money) to provide prescription medications that are harmful to the patients' health
2. Compelled society to radically change it's very fabric in the hopes of better catering to this tiny minority
and the result has been absolutely no statistically significant improvement in the mental health or quality of life of trannies as a population, with a serious negative impact on their health (which, whether transition/SRS is taxpayer-funded or not, the other side-effects of raping one's endocrine system will still be paid for by national health services/obamacare), and tremendous inconvenience and reduction of rights of self-determination and religious freedom for the other 99.99999% of the population.
I would argue that we would actually be better off doing nothing, first doing no harm if you will, because we would at least save money, effort, and social fabric, and the trannies themselves would be physically healthier

The issue with trans people is theres two types imo.
There are legit trans people who were born that way due to hormones in the womb fucking up their brain development.
Then there are the mentally ill JUSTS who think they are depressed because they arent insert gender here and think hormones and surgery will solve their problems and make them happy. They are also self image narcisists who want to be socially treated like the opposite sex and sexually fetishize themselves as being that sex.
Part of the problem is that society doesnt really tolerate people who gravitate away from gender norms unless they go full on homo and live within a sheltered community usually within downtown cores of major cities.
Another issue is all the toxic chemicals that are more and more prevalent in modern society that are estrogenic and reduce testosterone levels ultimately corrupting a person's psychology potentially making them gay and or transexual.
