Not the easiest thing to do. My wife was an atheist and I converted her after coming to Jesus Christ my self. Although it felt a lot like God took over very early on and she became very interested in how I believed so fervently being a devout atheist just recently before telling her about Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ and the rest of the Bible teaches God is knowable. Gnosticism generally in its teachings ultimately concludes a relationship with God is impossible or tenuous at best. I would say they're right because without Jesus Christ's sacrifice that reconciles our relation with God by a removal of our sin before him. So we are no longer a reproach to God and are able to receive the Holy Spirit and the blessings thereof.
The Bible is the best instrument from front to back to make anyone feel like a sinner. We all done wrong and any Just God would condemn us to the penalty of our sins which is death. A loving God would provide a way of mercy and forgiveness which is through in the OT the sacrifices of animals whose blood was innocent and in the NT which covers all people Jesus Christ.
There is a certain way to walk with God in the NT and the OT which is still relevant today. Psalms and Proverbs in particular but Timothy 2:15 states all scripture is good.
