Yeah but Stormwind didn't mean shit back then, Stormwind was a relatively minor southern kingdom, Lorderon far to the north was the real seat of human power at that point. SW really only became important in the wake of the 3rd war once zombie AIDS wiped out most of lorderon, gilneas went trump mode and built a wall, Dalaran put up their bubble and peaced out, the writers apparently forgot about Kul Trias, and Alterac got curb stomped in the second war leaving Stormwind the only remaining seat of human power and as such the leader of the Alliance of Lorderon which become the modern Alliance.

desu BC didn't make much sense to me anyway since I had figured Arthas has killed both of them off at the end of Frozen Throne, so I didn't really mind BC shit since I saw them as dead men anyway.
Also I stopped playing the game before ever even fully leveling a character in BC since the removal of 40 man dungeons just made things uninteresting for me and I felt like the expansion didn't actually add any depth to a game system that was already kinda shallow for an MMORPG.
