The reason most countries in the west refused to commit to a ground war in Syria was because they knew the average voter wouldn't like that after Iraq and Afghanistan. Everyone was shilling for it, but nothing happened. Therefore it seems national politicians do care more about their own careers rather than the agenda of the globalists when pressured. The EU doesn't have an army either, so it can't enforce it's will by brute force.
If they decide to go full fascist through legislature and ignore the voter this grossly (which isn't their style), they would be in loads of trouble and, like I mentioned in a post earlier, people are already starting to organize on their own, even if national politicians bend, the people will move on their own.
