I fully agree. The biggest issue was by limiting who can get a loan people argued that the poor were being kept out of higher education. If we kept student loans in the private sector we wouldn't have the severity of debt crisis and some colleges degrees may start to have value again. Even with the God Emperor in office, it's a tall order to suggest that things will get much better. Globalization has completely changed the playing field. Vocational programs are a good fix in the current term, but long-term solutions? I think just about all politicians are stumped since this is such a new problem.
My personal opinion is that we will eventually reach a critical mass of globalism and then buck the trend, going back to nationalist parties and cementing borders. Not necessarily on the level of /pol/'s wet dreams, but enough to keep a reasonable level of manufacturing and industry in each country. I think of it like the internet; the internet was like a virtual globalization, where everyone could go anywhere at any time and expose themselves to any ideology, ideally broadening their horizons and "waking up" to their indoctrinated school of thought. But what ended up happening? We became even more ideologically isolated than ever (guilty as charged by spending all my time on /pol/, by the way). People are less tolerant than ever about opposing political views, everything is an echo chamber. I predict a similar thing will occur with globalism, where nations have the world at their fingertips but the people eventually section themselves off. But unfortunately it will likely take a couple generations or so to truly unfold.

An easy answer would already have been implemented if it existed. I suspect reworking our foreign trade to make it less profitable to outsource overseas would help bring some jobs back. To further ease the strain we need to revisit how we restrict manufacturing in this country as things like manufacturing, energy generation, natural resources, are all being regulated and hounded by lobby groups to the point that they are more profitable across borders.
