There's a huge discrepancy in left/right wing parties when it comes to voter demographics and their agreement on their social policies. I'd imagine in the US if the democrats had a political party/candidate that was left-wing in immigration and economics but right-wing in social policies they would obliterate the competition since minorities would flock to it.
