The “antibiotic apocalypse” may already be upon us. According to Dame Sally Davies, chief medical officer for England, 50,000 people are dying every year in Europe and the US from infections that antibiotics have lost the power to treat.

They're basically creating programs for the diseases to become resistant. They're cramming the most elderly or AIDS infested wretches into hospitals and pumping them full of antibiotics when they should just be letting them die. Now these human petri dishes are creating generations of diseases that have been selectively bred to thrive despite antibiotics.

Why are doctors so fucking stupid? Oh that's right, they're all poo in loos.

fucking cunt paki doctors are to blame for it too. they fucking did it to me. I had some kind of ear infection, and they just kept throwing generic systemic antibiotics at me over and over whenever I went to them about it. of course it never got better, in fact it became a throat infection and now I have stomach problems and an inflamed esophagus and the cunts wont even talk to me because they can see it's completely beyond me, so they gave me an appointment for a specialist WHENEVER (they don't know how long because it's arranged by priority and if you don't have throat cancer you're at the bottom of the list forever) and now they won't even look at me anymore, they treat me like a fucking hypochondriac because I keep coming back and claiming their magic beans didn't work.

In MRSA the problem is easily solved. The MRSA is weaker than normal Staphylococcus, but since the normal Staphylococcus is being removed the MRSA can thrive in the environment unfazed by the normal Staphylococcus.

If they just stopped giving methicillin to farm animals, the normal Staphylococcus would come back and the MRSA would get BTFO.

In other words, just let normal diseases fuck up the antibiotic resistent disease and we will be back to square one again.

We have a dozen classes of reserve anti-biotics that have never been used. They're pretty toxic and could kill the patient but if you're gonna die anyway it's worth the risk.

It's also pretty easy to develop new classes of antibiotics, just go out and find a plant (99% of plant species have not been tested for medicinal properties), grind it up and put in a petri dish for a few days with some cultures. The problem is it's just not profitable to do it today because we have so many competing antibiotics. There was a bit of a kerfuffle in the news last year when a pharma group asked the UK government for £200m to develop a new antibiotic. The government said that's outrageous, no.

The government is killing you for £200m.

Also farmers and africans. You can literally buy antibiotics in africa in a shop with no medical oversight. And farmers just will not take no for an answer when the vets try to tell that maybe they don't need to preemptively treat every fucking animal on the farm every day.

95% of doctors in the UK have been pressured by patients to give out antibiotics or viral or psychosomatic infections. Around half admit to giving them out at least once when it was unnecessary.

it's quite simple actually. the human evolution has been artificially halted, while we have outrageously increased the rate of evolution in microorganisms.

everyone thinks "hey, let's create a pill that cures aids!" or "hey, let's create a pill that cures cancer!", but nobody thinks about making people whose immune systems' are resistant to such diseases to become with.

google spontaneous remission and hiv immunity. did you know that 10% of the european population has some sort of resistance to hiv? we apparently inherited this from our ancestors who survived the black death. oh, did i say black death? a PERFECT example of evolution. sure, almost 2 thirds of the european population perished, but the rest survived and resulted in a group of people with stronger immune systems.

in north america, the death rate from such diseases was 99%. again, survival of the fittest. they weren't fit to survive in the long term.

anyways, the thing is, there will always be a new disease out there and we cannot rely on "cures" or prayers to protect us. eugenics is the only way to go.

The problem is the physical manipulation of matter on a nano scale. We discovered fullerenes about 30 years ago and immediately realised the potential for targeted chemical delivery in the body. We thought it would be easy, but we still haven't quite mastered actually getting the medication inside the structure.

Any kind of scientific prediction is usually balls, it doesn't work like that, we have one big breakthrough then a few decades of head scratching and minor improvements, then another breakthrough and so on. It could happen tomorrow or a hundred years from now.

Your singularity example doesn't apply as we can track processing power growth over time and accurately predict it. Caveat: some speculate that moore's law is about to fail.

Scientific research doesn't work like that though, unless the singularity can apply creative solutions for us. Then we really are irrelevant.

Singularity isn't coming anytime soon, or at least no before 2045, like singularfags predict. We still need to make great leaps in understanding the human brain and the processes inside it, the research of which will take half a century at best. Then we need to invent ways of replacing the brain piece by piece without killing the person, which will require nanomachines or atomic-level manipulations, which would require god knows how much time to research. So you better work on that organic eating so you could make it to 2100.

Of course it is. It's ALWAYS naturally weakened people first and in greater quantity. What a retarded thing to say.

Even if we were seeing catastrophic death rates that'd be true. I bet you thought this was a smart observation too you fucking idiot.

>>74476390
>They're basically creating programs for the diseases to become resistant. They're cramming the most elderly or AIDS infested wretches into hospitals and pumping them full of antibiotics when they should just be letting them die.

Not really. You have two main sources for resistance, and it's sloppy use of antibiotics (this is every one of you niggers who start a cure of penicillin and then decide you feel better so you don't do the full cure) and then the enormous use in animal breeding, especially pigs that have a vector to human disease.

The biggest fucking issue is people not taking their complete cycles. This just gives bacteria a punch instead of a shoah, which lets them adapt.

In Africa the humanitarian mission to stop TB combined with nigger IQ and poverty has led to TB strains that are completely resistant to everything we have.

Tuberculosis is spread by droplets, it kills you slowly, and if there's no cure.. it's basically what you were hoping Ebola would be. A worldwide pandemic in the waiting.

But this is actually a good solution, because niggers are the cause of this. All bacteria that come into contact with antibiotics and survive, may develop resistance. Therefore it is important that:

>1. Antibiotics are only prescribed when it is actually necessary, both to limit direct bacteria exposure and to limit antibiotics in the sewer systems, where bacteria also come into contact with them
>2. The entire cure is finished, so few to no bacteria ''live to tell the tale''

Now, white people, like Dutchmen and Germans, do this very consciously. Getting antibiotics for a minor throat infection is very hard, let alone for something that is even less threatening. Now, Frenchmen and Portuguese, for example, they hand antibiotics out like they're jelly beans. In some black countries, you don't even need a prescription and you can just buy them at the drug store. This is what causes bacteria resistance and when new antibiotics can't be discovered as fast as the old ones become useless, we indeed may have a very large problem.
>>
LITERALLY the fault of USA and their Jew-run medical industry.

Non-UK European doctors learn about the dangers of prescribing antibiotics first day in med school.

Up until a few years ago, 99.99999% of bacteria were impossible to culture. Since then, they discovered methods of culturing various types of soil bacteria and we can now successfully culture around 30% of bacteria on earth. These bacteria produce millions of new antiobiotics, many in completely novel classes. Antibiotic is not a major problem anymore, in a few years we'll have more antibiotics than we know what to do with.

On top of that, there's also been major breakthroughs in the usage of bacteriophage as "antibiotics" lately.
>>
>>74490865
>Antibiotic is not a major problem anymore, in a few years we'll have more antibiotics than we know what to do with.

Antibiotics are incredibly expensive to research and don't cost anything. They are not economically worthwhile for drug companies to research.

Does this apply if you take the same type of anti-biotic over a long period of time, or is it just that specific type? I had to take about 10 lots of one type because of a shitty infection in my toe that just wouldn't fully go away, as I had damaged the nail bed from an injury.

I wish they just removed the toe nail as soon as possible, but they wanted the infection to go before they did it, then decided that it has been going on for too long and removed it.

>The golden era of antibiotics, when new ones were often being discovered, is long past. It has become increasingly difficult for pharmaceutical companies to develop new ones as the old ones have lost their power to cure through over-use. Bacteria become drug-resistant by evolving to overcome antibiotics. That means new drugs must be used as little as possible, to keep them for extreme circumstances where the older drugs fail.

>So the old model, in which pharmaceutical companies develop a new drug and then market it to sell as much as possible, is not in anybody’s interest, because the more these drugs are used the faster they lose their potency.

Thanks Capitalism!

Pockets of people listened. Medical professionals in the US by and large listened very carefully.

Livestock companies in China did not.

Chinese pork gets fed daily with antibiotics. Bacteria mutates to resist those antibiotics. Pork is slaughtered and eaten. Infection may start with humans in areas of poor hygiene where the pork is undercooked, but makes its way to Hong Kong.

Business man catches it from a poor day worker in Hong Kong. Finishes business trip, and takes the resistant bug home with him.

Ever hear about the bacteria in China where they manufacture plastics etc? Weird shit. In the big sludgy industrial waste pools they've found bacteria which survive by eating plastics and synthetics like nylon that have only been invented in the 20th century. Naysayers gunno naysay though. Dont underestim8 the bacteria, theyll be the death of us all

*Evolution

there's no such thing as "micro" evolution.

There's already been experiments with making nanotechnology on a "nano level" though, such as rudimentary pumps and motors.

I don't want the Grey Death to be injected into my body with nanomachines

Ive warned you guys so many fucking times.

Birds like gulls will kill eachother because they are an international and widespread species. They kill eachother if they see signs of weakness or sickness (So the infection or bad genes dont spread). This has caused many birds to develop sick bird syndrome, which is when birds pretend to be feeling okay, when they are near death's doors.

Humans were supposed to be a tribal animal; we're not only not tribal, but we're global now. And you wonder how we can get so many diseases? A plague is INEVITABLE. this was bound to happen, because people travel more.

yeah I get that, but the amount of time for this to become sufficiently advanced for combating disease and get medically approved will take a good amount of time

This. The problem is not the people, it's the resistant viruses. Whether or not you've taken antibiotics is irrelevant.

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

I've only taken antibiotics once as an adult, and the only time other that that is when I was an infant.

What does this mean for me?

Sounds like we need WOLBACHIA

>>74506738
Okay but chances are people who haven't taken antibiotics have a stronger immune system in regards to those viruses.

>Miami (AFP) - A bacterium known as Wolbachia, which is fairly common in insects, can reduce mosquitoes' ability to spread the Zika virus, researchers said Wednesday.

Doesn't matter, the newly created antibiotic resistant strands of bacteria will still kill you because they are antibiotic resistant.
>>
>>74495534
Not in all cases. If you have family connections like Ramiksoon you can get into a U.S or Canadian residency. Even that doesn't work you can still practice in places like Britain or Australia.
