According to the petition's page it was initiated by TU prof. Hannes Werthner. I'm pretty sure that's the same Hannes Werthner who co-authored Peter-Pilz' semi-plagiarizing dissertation back in the 80s ( https://www.unzensuriert.at/content/009438-FP-pr-ft-Anzeige-wegen-Pilz-Dissertation ). So this petition is coming from someone very close to the Green inner core and this is actually a small scandal.
It shows how desparate the Greens are at this point. So this is good. On the same hand we cannot just let this attempt at manipulation only a few days ahead of the elections slide. The only question is: what institution in Austria is uncucked enough to not sweep this under the carpet AND professional enough to deal with this in a credible manner?
