He's leading in every recent poll AND outperforms the polls routinely anyway because of people who won't admit they're voting for him. The last debate hurt VdB significantly more than Hofer as well, and the usual issue of moderate conservatives voting against the far-right shouldn't be happening this time because of how far-left VdB is.

21% went to VdB and 35% to Hofer.
Assuming only negligible numbers of people will switch from VdB to Hofer and vice versa, there are 44% left of which VdB needs 30% to win and Hofer needs 16% to win.
How can VdB get 30% out of 44%?
Well, he will get the majority of the 19% Griss voters, the vast majority of the 11% socialists who voted Hundstorfer, and maybe half of the 10% conservatives who voted for Khol. The 3% Lugner votes will either not vote or vote Hofer.
Or in other words, it is possible for VdB still to get to 51%.
