It is an abstract kind of feel to watch Hohol maps and see those small villages, just ready to be captured from ISIS, yet it doesnt happen.,

I move troops around in my head as an Armchair general, planning attacks, tactics with reinforcements and airstrikes, but it doesnt happen.

Anyone else knows this feel?

tfw I will never be the Modern Dessert fox and destroy ISIS.

I even have a cool name, someone once told me. An actors name they said

Sure, but it was the only place the western allies directly fought the axis, you would expect they would do better. Imagine Hitler wasn't a retard and put resources into this instead of opening another front.
>>
I am honestly disappointed in Russia. It is evident that they are abandoning Syria. They pretty much went all in to help Assad regain Palmyra to show the world that their support wasn't a failure and then slowly began to pull out.
>>
>>73057981

Because Aleppo's Battle already begun days ago, and this shit about "not knowing how to act" is a farse. just look at the numbers of death, and Nusrarts/FSA lose almost 250 in 2 weeks, while SAA lose about 100 (Including IRGC, Hezbollah, Iraqis Militias, etc).

The strategy is just letting them bleed out until they can't hold anymore terrain in some part and advance, because FSA/Nusra don't have many men now do a shit in alll fronts, there's a weak spot in North Hama/Latakia/Idlib/Aleppo that SAA will attack in surprise, and FSA/Nusra will have not choice but move their militans to another parts to secure that part and weak another spot.

>>73062609

They aren't, just they're preparing another massive bombing and letting Kerry be a moron in front of the world, just wait for it.

>ISIS advancing east Homs
>Palmyra-Deiz Ezzor going extremely slow even with RuAF air support
>Al Ghab plains territory lost by the SAA near Mansoura wasn't recovered
>Jihadists launching an offensive in Khalidiya and Khan Touman, killing dozens of SAA soldiers while Russia and Syria fall for the truce meme
>No more russian SU-25

For me, it's over. It was a good run by Bashar and the syrian people but it's a matter of time until Russia and USA agreed on another "truce" while the jihadists attacks the SAA and they don't respond fire because "WE ARE OBSERVING THE TRUCE".

Fucking disgusting.

>The Turkish-backed Army of Conquest (Jaish al-Fateh) launched, today afternoon, a massive attack on Khan Tuman village located nearly 15 km to the south of the northern city of Aleppo.

>The offensive began with Islamist fighters shelling the Army’s defensives with heavy artillery and homegrown rockets Hell Cannons, capturing several points and killing a number of government troops who forcibly retreated eastward.

>Pro-jihadists social media accounts reported of heavy losses among the government troops, including tanks and rocket launchers. Jaish al-Fateh is a conglomeration of ultra-hardline fighters, led by the al-Qaeda offshoot in Syria, Jabhet al-Nusra, and made up primarily from Ahrar ash-Sham and Jund al-Aqsa, which are directly linked to Nusra or have a similar ideology.

>The last assault by radical fighters to seize Al-Khalidiyah village (which acts as the southern gate to Khan Tuman) in last April was repelled after the Syrian Army was able to maintain all its positions.

So much whining ITT.

FSA and ISIS are making minor gains. The SAA and Russians have to do a lot more repositioning because they're fighting on many fronts, while the FSA and Al Nursa in particular are isolated and can deploy faster in those pockets.

Continue watching the push for Del Ezzor and Aleppo.

Russia can not and will not back down to American threats, but each time the word 'Truce' comes up operations sputter down a bit. This is unfortunate but not the end of the world.

As for Russia pulling out: After they announced the scaling down of operations more Russian personnel were stationed in the country. It's likely just a rotation.

western media is implying that Assad is deliberately targeting them. Assad says that would be counter intuitive to their tactics so I wanna know what's going on.

is it just collateral damage or a deliberate strategy from Assad to make the rebell areas uninhabitable?

theyre already relatively uninhabitable, allegedly 1.5 million aleppo citizens in the government part, and only 300.000 in rebel-part

I wouldnt want to live in an area with all these militant fucks either

Anyway. while opposition sources claim this hospital was "well known", whatever that means, an Aleppo doctor has said that this hospital did not exist before the civil war started

Rebels have hit al-Razi hospital and al-Dabeet hospital in Aleppo during this last week.

Make of it what you will. One thing is certain, the media is shilling massively again by ignoring all good things the syrian government organises and still does for its Aleppo citizens and instead make an article about ONE AIRSTRIKE and how that proves that assad is an evil dictator or some shit

Horseshit. There were news about how Assad didn't really capture Palmyra but convinced IS to withdraw instead, just a few days ago. W*stern media will never ever criticize the r*bels. Never. The W*st will never say "Ok guys, our proxies are chimping out, gotta give you this one."

Everyone keeps talking about what a mastermind Putin was, after he pulled out just before the c*asefire. He blundered. He thought that he could get Assad to negotiate if he just gave thim the momentum and pulled out right before, to let him know that he is expandable. But Bashar is a stubborn man, and he said fuck you. I have no idea why Putin underestimated Assad's stubbornness; I mean the guy didn't leave Damascus while it was almost under siege, what makes you think that he will give up after you pull a few planes away?

Now Putin has a mess in his hands. Not only is Assad not negotiating, neither are the r*bels, and now r*bels have regained the momentum. Now the rebels have resupplied themselves further as well. This c*asefire was a net loss for the Syrian government and Russia.

If they have any idea what they are doing, they will declare the end of the c*asefire, rain hell on Isl*mists while T*rkey is politically unstable, and let the W*stern media cry over it.

From FOX News:

>Syrian opposition fighters launching rockets on government held-parts in the contested city of Aleppo struck a hospital, killing at least four people and wounding dozens more, a hospital official says, part of ongoing fighting that killed dozens of people Tuesday.

Also consider the that Russia this week captured two different terror cells, and publicly exclaimed that one confessed to being training and financed by Turkey.

not really, it was going to iran tier but it stopped after erdoğan. internet got huge influence on that. people are just "pretending" to be muslims atm. if there was a "sharia referandum" or smth, our results would be better than britain. 20 years ago if you'd openly say you are atheist you'd get burnt, but people are discussing atheism etc on tv now, w/o any problems. turkey's one of the most liked professor said "there is no such thing as allah or smth" on a hugely watched tv program and nobody said shit, people even applauded and he is still liked.

You said they'll never report negatively on rebels.

They have. They just don't do it often or honestly enough.

There is no desire in the US or Europe to remove Assad outside of the political establishment. Canada is different, our population is brainwashed to hell and we get frequent terrorist rallies in my city.

But there is hope, because each time the MSM goes on the offensive against Assad, it garners zero results. That is why nothing has happened yet.

Russia hasn't abandoned Assad and if anything I expect Putin to double down now that Russia has publicly implicated Turkey in attacked planned on Russian soil.

Conditioning the ceasefire on Nusra being entirely excluded from it is unworkable, Nusra Front media official Abu Khattab al-Maqdisi told VICE News on Wednesday.

"Nusra Front is present in every liberated area, with only a few exceptions," he said. "If the reason [for excluding areas from the ceasefire] is going to be that Nusra is present, then every area will be excluded from the truce."

Al Qaeda Is About to Establish an Emirate in Northern Syria

After years on the back foot, the Nusra Front is laying the groundwork for al Qaeda’s first sovereign state.

The Islamic State and al Qaeda use different tactics in Syria, but their ultimate objective there is the same: the creation of an Islamic emirate. Whereas the Islamic State has imposed unilateral control over populations and rapidly proclaimed independence, al Qaeda’s Syrian affiliate has moved much more deliberately, seeking to build influence in the areas they hope to rule. This is a long-game strategy that the terrorist group began adopting in the late 2000s, first in Yemen, in 2011, and then in Mali, in 2012.

After years of painstaking work to increase its sway in northern Syria, Nusra Front recently launched consultations within its own ranks and among some sympathetic opposition groups about proclaiming an emirate. Given the stakes involved, al Qaeda has recently transferred a number of highly influential jihadi figures from its central leadership circles into Syria. Their mission is to assuage the concerns expressed by other Syrian Islamist movements and those members of Nusra Front who, for now, oppose the idea of an independent emirate.

Dozens feared dead in new air strike on Syrian refugee camp
Reporters at the al-Kamouna camp at Sarmada, Idlib province, said there were ten people confirmed dead, with the total number likely to be much higher.

"Initial assessment indicates dozens of killed and wounded refugees," said Hadi Abdallah, one of the best-known rebel-linked journalists.

No.
Visa-free travel is contingent on Turkey meeting 78 conditions set by the European Council.

Turkey has met about half of these so far.

Others, such as freedom of the press and recognition of the Cypriot government, are expected to hold up the process.

Any EU member may veto the final deal.

And Turkish membership into the EU hinges on approval from all 28 members. Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Poland, Czech and Slovakia are 'unlikely' to approve.

Although Tsipras might sell Greece and its membership to Turkey and bypass all the formalities, who knows.

Russia is finnished. In addition, US troops and NATO conduct the teaching in Moldova. It is worth remembering that in Latvia and Lithuania they are for a long time. And about Ukraine should not be forgotten, they will appear there at any moment - now is not a problem for them. In short, NATO troops are surrounding Russia from all sides. And when you completely surround, Russia will not have any chance, even if suddenly, for whatever reason, will be replaced by the elite, then the new will have no choice except complete subordination of the West, regardless of whether they will want it or not, the only alternative will be war with NATO on its territory.

Russian contingency plan is basically CYKA BLYAT NUKE EVERYTHING. They were much weaker prior to 2010 while USA and EU were much stronger relative to Russia. There's a reason why nobody tries shit with them directly.

Russia isn't in a position to worry at the moment. The EU is fracturing and once Eastern Europe splits from it they'll end up being sanctioned or otherwise unfairly treated.

Russia is the logical economic partner.

Plus, the Middle-East (Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran) has clearly chosen to side with Russia over the United States. That means a lot of opportunity for Russian business and Eastern Europe, too, if they play their cards right.

Poland might be crazy enough to fight Russia directly, but America is not. Unless Russia moves on a NATO-member in Eastern Europe, nothing will happen to them.

>Oh wow the FSA and ISIS are making gains
>Waaaah
>it's all over

Fuck off. Russia hasn't withdrawn yet and isn't showing that it plans to do so. Russian media is fanning the flames just like Western media is doing.

Calm before the storm, people.

Our guvmint has no brain. We could absolutely carve a big part of Russian market for ourselves, but instead we're willingly blueballing ourselves.
Hungary does it, Slovakia does it, Czechs do it.
But Poland can't, apparently.

Your government, despite the public rhetoric, is the bitch of the german and US governments. Nobody cares about Hungary or Slovakia, but without Poland the german car industry collapses.

I am well aware of that. But they won't move out of line more than they are doing now, because if they do we'll implode and they'll get booted the fuck out.
It's a bit of a standoff.

Russian orchestra plays in Palmyra ruins

A renowned Russian orchestra performed a concert Thursday in the ruins of the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra, which was liberated from the clutches of ISIS less than six weeks ago.

In remarkable scenes, acclaimed conductor Valery Gergiev led St. Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra through a classical performance at Palmyra's Roman amphitheater, a designated UNESCO World Heritage site.

The concert, "Pray for Palmyra: Music Revives Ancient Ruins," was dedicated to victims of the terror group and was televised in a delayed broadcast on Russian state television.

The audience was a mix of Russian and Syrian dignitaries as well as dozens of Russian soldiers. Syria's antiques and culture ministers were also present.

A second concert was planned for Friday featuring the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, the Syrian National Orchestra for Arabic Music, Orchestra Mary and al-Farah Choir, according to Syria's state-run news agency SANA.

Yes, often lately.
It's just been constant shitposting and shills decrying the end of the war.

Nothing to report except for minor rebel gains (already reported).

At this point im 90% sure that the only way this war is going to end is by total annihilation until one side wins.

All sides have simply fought too hard and lost too much to just do some "peace talks" with each other, make some reforms and call it a day.

SAA isin't going anywhere. They've been fightning in this shit for 5 years. They've lost countless soldiers. The remaining ones remember their lost comrades. Do you think they will give up? Hell, even if Assad is assasinated or something happens to him they will still probably continue fightning. They've dedicated too much to give up now.

ISIS is certainly never, ever going to give up.

Kurds have been aiming for an independent Kurdistan for decades now. This is their best chance in history. No way they would let down their arms.

FSA? Maybe. They are a mixed bunch but considering most of FSA is jihadist nowadays, i doubt they will agree to anything more than a short term ceasefire.

lmao.. Israel hates Iran and by extension Assad as ally of Iran.

one poster doesnt change that.

> implying AL qeada is the only one fighting Assad

There are like a dozen groups fighting in Syria. They are all fighting for power. We cannot have ISIS obviously, but we also cannot have Assad since he is an ally of our world rivals.

So that means we need a different group. It's too soon to decide who will take over the country but Assad will not be around for much longer to be apart of the fight.

Eventually it will come down to a bunch of Islamic groups slaughtering each other with the United States supporting whoever will be more inclined to work with us.
