Zerohedge fell for the same trap they accuse economists of making - believing that it is possible to actually predict the market.
When analyzing individual pieces of data they're pretty good, but when trying to synthesize that into a broader picture they fail because it's not actually possible to do that. The economy is way more complex than a few indexes can ever properly express.
If hedge fund managers cant do it, if central bank planners can't do it, if professors of economics can't do it, then why the fuck do they think it can even be done?

ZH, and the people that post in the comments have been consistently wrong about what to do with your money.
They have been "buy gold", "its all ogre", etc. I think since their inception.
BUT, if you don't mindlessly read the site trying to find an instruction manual for your $, and instead use it as a source for unconventional ideas (just like 4chan), it is fucking amazing (just like 4chan).
They are literally years ahead of mainstream media in their reporting. They are years ahead of most policy makers too. It's not that they are wrong with the collapse meme, it is just that they are many years or decades early. You can't be too early in investing.
