You suck at math because you didn't pay enough attention. The tricky thing with math is that if you missed/didn't understand just ONE concept, every thing from there onwards will be impossible to understand. Math builds on itself. You can't skip parts of math and go directly to the parts you need to learn. Math has to be learned from the beginning , and every concept needs to be fully understood, until you can progress to the next level. Go to khan academy.org and start, from the kindergarten level, and go up from there as much as you need. I'm super serious. That is the only way you can be sure you don't have any ideas not understood fully.
Also, there is no such thing as a "math gene". I can;t believe I even have to write this.
