Why don't we just seal or nuke yellowstone if it's that much of an issue

Or chug water in it
>>
>>71439385
B-but most of my tools can handle that and much more... why would some one manufacter a tool that does only that one single thing? Basically all i'd need is a wrench and I have about 10-15 of those...

https://youtu.be/Bu_pkzLq9_k
>>
>>71440093
First of all that would not do anything good. Sealing it would let the pressure build and would probably trigger an eruption, nuking it would probably do something bad, and pouring water on it would do nothing seeing as there is plenty of water in Yellowstone

We do nothing, because it's not really a concern for anyone that has never worn a tinfoil hat.

it's probably something cheap that can be zip tied directly to the gas line. This way in case of earthquake you can run out of the house and shut it off before your house explodes without rummaging through garage. Some people don't have organized garages/tool boxes and you can waste a lot of time looking for a wrench.

This is a specific tool that should fit a standard valve and save time without having to make adjustments to the wrench. Yes, i understand you can zip tie a random wrench as well, but whatever nigger.

A little reminder... the sun let out a massive CME on Sunday.. this will begin hit our planet tomorrow. This could very well be the trigger. Solar eruptions are directly proportional to earthquakes.

>>71455842
>massive CME
Haha no. That was a piddly little M-flare. The real fun starts when the sun starts shitting out X-flares.
Keep in mind, that scale is a combo Linear-Logarithmic scale. Within each class, each level of flare is linearly more powerful than the previous, but when going up to the next class, the weakest of that class is 10x stronger than the weakest of the initial class; a C1 flare is 10x weaker than an M1 flare, and an M1 flare is 10x weaker than an X1 flare.

The strongest recorded flare released from the sun topped out at X47, and was so strong we had to infer its strength from the effects it had on our atmosphere because it had overloaded all orbital sensors. And then there was the Carrington event, the solar flare that alerted us to their existence in the first place, along with the followup Geomagentic storm that fucked up the telegraph networks nation-wide.

Why no dates? Very soon is pointless because how soon is very soon? and how long have these been up and how many have passed and gone without happening but deleted or just pushed back with more "very soon" predictions?

a supervolcano isn't capable of mass extinction
you'd need a magma plume reaching the surface like the siberian traps
>>71432121
you'd see some extreme activity
it won't blow unless a couple geysers explode and some earthquake swarms happen
>>
>>71459591
You'll likely have to wait a couple hundred or thousands of years.

But don't worry, we'll probably have at least 2-3 extreme eruptions this century.
Last century we had Novarupta, St. Helens and Pinatubo.
Before that we had Tambora and Krakatoa, unbelievable eruptions. Both plunged the global temperatures.

>>
>>71430836
When will this Yellowstone meme end
>>
>>71464259
no
the explosion at krakatoa happened because the volcano emptied its magma chamber, causing the mountain to collapse. seawater rushed in in ungodly amounts and instantly evaporated
that blast of steam was heard from approximately 3000 miles away

the sound wave keeps going, but too quiet to hear it

yellowstone is on land, so there's no seawater to cause steam blasts, but there are a few lakes
anyway it's on land so the terrain will suppress the sound

>>
>>71466744

VEI stands for Volcanic Explosivity Index if you're wondering
logarithmic scale from 1 to 8 like an earthquake scale
St. Helens (1980) was a 5
Krakatoa (1883) was a 6
Tambora (1815) was a 7
yellowstone's major eruptions were all 8
9 is probably not possible
there are ancient supervolcanoes that dwarf yellowstone, but they're not quite 9
>>
>thread up since 1 pm
>only 200 replies

it ain't happening
>>
>>71466567
why, let's look at the facts here

it's erupted every 700 000 years or so recently
it contains a set amount of magma, which from what I understand is slowly accumulated until there's too much and then it all blows out
if we were to drain it at a rate equal or faster than it's filling up, it wouldn't ever reach the point where it blows

even 5000 cubic miles filling up over 700 000 years isn't all that much, roughly a .2 mile big cube every year

well you can't really make a pipeline from yellowstone to saudi arabia

How about the ocean? We could make an island. Or burn the ghettos with it.

Well, then to get it out to the ocean you'd have to make one bigass pipe across several hundred miles of mountainous terrain, an active seismic zone, and several major population centers.

You misunderstand, the yellowstone erupting will be an official happening.

It is less about the immediate death and more about the collapse of society and the survival aspect, that is why people are getting hyped.

Its gonna be ugly and savage as governments lose control over the society and has to strike down hard on average people who get desperate.

It will be terrible, yes, but it will basically be the catalyst for the *insert political issue here* ( race war, class war, gender war, degeneracy war, etc )

I think most people going through that horror would only wish to return to being *wagecucks* and NEETS it is a classic dilemma known as the following:

"the grass is greener on the other side"
