I also recognise that, whilst it is pretty degenerate to binge alcohol, it does have its uses in civilisation regarding the lower, working classes. You can't expect those at the bottom of society to simply have no fun if their lives revolve around serving those above them. That's why I think it's a necessary evil in binge form.

In my experience the mass produced American beers like Budweiser and Coors are among the worst of the worst but the vast majority of American Craft beers I've had have been excellent. I've always said America is a country of extremes, the stuff that comes out of there is either among the best or among the worst.
