1) They don't respond logically to real humans, just to prerecorded posts
2) You'll recognize the repeat of the conversation in the next thread in a few hours

another possibility is that 4chan just repeats popular/inflammatory threads and conversations with bots to keep up traffic and user engagement (ie to maintain a critical mass and drown out shittier or less engaging user-created threads.)
