I'm specifically looking for the Saudi advance getting blown out by the houthis.

The one that killed 500 or so Saudi soldiers and forced them to do a ceasefire and drop cluster bombs on a market.

They will find themself at the loosing side as soon as air strikes start picking up again - it's all useless unless they manage to reverse the situation in Lataika or Homs, or manage to somehow recapture and hold onto the corridor to Turkey in north-east Allepo.

>The cargo listed in the document included: AK-47 rifles, PKM general-purpose machine guns, DShK heavy machine guns, RPG-7 rocket launchers, and 9K111M Faktoria anti-tank guided weapon (ATGW) systems. The Faktoria is an improved version of the 9K111 Fagot ATGW, the primary difference being that its missile has a tandem warhead for defeating explosive reactive armour (ERA) fitted to some tanks.

>And that wouldve stopped a power vacuum from forming how exactly?? Another Libya perhaps?

Libya is in a much better position than Syria m8. And besides, Gaddafi didn't step down gracefully like he should've done. He and assad are of the same kind of men, those who are willing to sacrifice their own nation and people for a position of power. See what this kind of thinking has led the middle east to.

>Leaders alone dont make armed groups
No, but they create them. And it's common knowledge that many jihadis, not just leaders, came from outside syria. If Assad gave his people(i.e. the opposition) the power over Syria from the start, they wouldn't have let these people (al-golani, al-baghdadi etc) establish their organisations in syria.

Hey ottoman.

Since you've cooled down quite a bit from the shitposting and are almost a human now, do you mind giving us links and other things on the domestic situation in Turkey?

I'd like to hear about political shenanigans, statements about the current wars from the Turk perspective, and other such things, even if they're propaganda.

It's good to see the other viewpoint. There will be happenings soon and it would be great for you to give us info on how it builds up.

Also it would be nice if you post the political climate of turkey. Things like popular opinion and people knowing the things the propaganda doesn't want them to see. Especially the quagmire that is the Kurdish happenings and the governments failure to fight Isis which is causing bombings they blame on the Kurds.

Thank you in advance ottoman.

But you're still a turkroach for insulting the best girl and Queen of /sg/

>Libya is in a better position than Syria

>Qaddafi should have stepped down gracefully and bent to the US trained, Funded, And supported rebels

Nobody can be this stupid.

He was winning the civil war until the no fly zone and NATO bombings happened. After that, there was no way for him to step down. The coalition did not offer safe passage or a way to peacefully give up without him and his family all being slain by Islamists.

And the rebels all were and still are Islamists. Now Libya is a terrorist hub that acts like a cartoon version of Qaddafi when they accused him in the late 2000's of supporting terrorism.

Because we (the United States) did this, Tunisia, Algeria, and especially our ally Egypt are being attacked by terrorists that won the Libyan war and now have a base to attack our allies as well as smuggle fighters into neighboring countries.

Libya was the worst decision we ever made. The Arab Spring was a total failure, and it wasted thousands upon thousands of lives. It destabilized secular governments whose only crime was not being backed by the Saudis.

Instead of the Arab Spring succeeding, it just became civil wars and only harmed US allied governments. Syria still stands. Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria are now fucked.

Even if you're anti Assad, you can see directly how much damage this Arab Spring did. You're just shitposting for shitposting sake.

Assad failed to introduce political reforms before the Syrian civil war. His economic policies were a desperate attempt at modernization. He maintained a corrupt bureaucracy that padded its own wallets.Assad is necessary for a stable transition, but he is by no means a good leader.

Doesn't matter. The rebels are currently in the process of encircling Aleppo. We are witnessing two simultaneous offensives in southern Aleppo and in the north, once they're done with both the khomeinist dogs and their assadist handlers will be completely entrapped inside Aleppo. Once that happens, probably before June, it will be check mate for Assad and his goons all over Syria.
>>

Its well known that Iran sent their proxies and Russia sent advisors. They are just exaggerating. They are ignoring the Tigers, Desert Hawks, Syrian marines, SAA and NDF soldiers that participated.

Here is the thing: The same thing that stopped them before the ceasefire will stop them after it, too. It's doubtful that their strength improved by enough to fight on equal ground when Loyalist forces have absolut air superiority, so most likely they want to take advantage of SAA forces having been relocated to the east to fight IS. As soon as they are back any hope of further gains will be crushed, and I doubt that any amount of digging in and fortifying will help them for long.
Breaking the ceasefire was seriously the dumbest thing they could do

I know that Tunisia and Egypt are doing fine per say, but our Arab Spring fuckery which destabilized Egypt and let them put the Muslim brotherhood in power was bad.

If that had not been stop by the Egyptian military, the consequences of the Muslim brotherhood in power combined with the Sinai Isis and Libyan terrorist anarchy would have been absolutely devastating.

We would have lost Egypt as an ally as well as them losing their secular government/society in all regards. That would have been devastating to Egypt, especially from an economic standpoint considering they are a powerhouse economy in North Africa.

The Libyan anarchy is a safe haven for terrorism unlike any country we have seen before. While the neighbors are weathering what is happening, Libya being such a haven and nigh untouchable (barring a military takeover) exporter of terrorism is a serious issue in the region.

I'm sure you agree with me on this point. We are extremely lucky that the Arab Spring only did this much damage.

Houthi weaponry is largely taken from the incompetent soldiers of the KSA. KSA is known for abandoning equipment or being slaughtered en masse by the Houthi forces and the Republican Guard.

Better than all other leaders who tried to take his place.

He was thrust into the position of Syrian dictator after attempting to become a doctor in France. He thought his father was a savage for what he did to keep the Muslim brotherhood out.

For a man thrust into this position, and for having to deal with the issues stemming from Saudi Arabia wanting to move them into a non secular government as the next target post Iraq, he did a very good job.

The civil war and the creation of Isis (originally the branch of al quaeda funded by the Saudis to start the religious civil war in Iraq against Iranian influence) showed just how much he was up against normally. The US arming and training the FSA as well as Isis before they became Isis took away Assad's ability to police those areas which were powderkegs we were ignorant about.

And without Assad, the terrorism flourished when the powder keg went off. Even the moderates are full Islamist beheaders.

You must read more about the war and not shitpost.

If you knew even an iota of the pre civil war Syrian history with the repression of the Muslim brotherhood, the Saudis funding Islamists everywhere, and how dangerous these men were if they were to be left alone, you would change your opinion drastically.

Having lived in the middle east for over a decade and a half and also a former Canuck vet of Astan I'll say this the GCC countries of middle east have especially the KSA have a lot of Siny Western equipment, F-15, EF-Typhoon and M1A2 tanks and train extensivley with the Americans and the Europeans. Having said that they're a soft people now, they've never had to work hard and have had everything handed to them through oil.

They've never fought a modern military conflict, they don't have a clue of what warfighting entails. Thats why they the Paki Army millions, to train their woefully under trained army. In the 1st Gulf war the Royal Saudi Airforce (TOP KEK) scored ONE fucking air to air kill. ONE. That too after that aircraft was escorted by the USAF and had essentially trapped a lone Iraqi airforce aircraft, thereby handing the kill for bragging rights to the Saudi nigger.

>where are the Saudis getting their weapons from

The US and US Allies. They use Abrams and Mraps, use F15's and panavia tornados, their guns are steyr Augs and their artillery as well as heavy weaponry are all from the US and Europe.

The houthis are getting weapons from the Iranians, but the Saudis have been getting BTFO to such a degree that they leave massive amount of equipment and troops behind after fights. They abandon columns to die all the time.

If vehicles are hit by IED's, they will run away leaving the wounded or even unwounded depending on the situation to die.

And the Saudis have been wasting tons of soldiers and arms. They have left the houthis with amazing modern weaponry like artillery, modern mortars, manpads (God knows why the Saudis have had them when they aren't fighting aircraft), tons of ammo and heavy machine guns as well as modern steyr augs (and other modern rifles) that the houthis have replaced their AK's with, and of course tanks and MRAPS, many of which are replacing technicals while the tanks are generally used in static positions post capture. Many apc's and armored cars are also captured.

The most dangerous thing the Saudis have been leaving for the houthis are modern ATGM's. The houthis are in possession of a large number of javelins, modern TOW 2A's that the fsa dream about, and other modern ATGM's. The Saudis use a lot of different weaponry from different nations.

The more the Saudis are losing, the more armed and prepared the houthis get, which then makes for even more Saudi losses. At the start of the war they were using old fagots, RPG's, shut Russian mortars, no artillery, and some things tbey captured from the Yemenis. The war was much closer.

After some daring base raids, some raids against FOB's, the capture of SAMS they jerry rigged as long range missile artillery, and of course IED's where the Saudis ran to leave columns to die, they gained scary amounts of weaponry that filled all the gaps.

They were hiding their leadership among the civilians so they were safer from the US.

The populace there are Isis now. The area was and always has been a hotbed of Islamic terrorism.

But because of Assad, they were never bold enough to operate in broad daylight along the border. They were relegated to standard terrorism shenanagins. The weapons and other things were in Iraq, but many a time the leadership was across the border to save themselves from the US like the taliban in Pakistan.

Later in those operations in 2006-2007 they were being cracked down by Assad after they got bold and were found out (the thing that started this whole civil war) while Assad was the one who worked with us. The leadership was pushed into Iraq and many of them died while many cut ties and went completely underground. They instead waited and then focused on Syria.

When the Arab Spring happened they had the chance to sieze the initiative from the unrest. They were funded by the Saudis but the US started to as well while the Saudis increased funding during this period.

Isis and the moderate Islamists are the men who participated in the Iraq civil war. They were funded by the Saudis who also did not like the Syrians and wanted to fuck with Iranian influence in Iraq and Syria. The only thing that changed during the crackdown was them waiting and keeping things far more hidden when the leader died. The Syrian civil war was their revenge.

It blew over to Iraq because that was the original goal back in 2006-7. They were finishing the job per say. Our governments absolute ignorance on this after the election was near criminal. The Obama administration forgot everything learned before just to ride the Arab Spring wave.

And you can see what the consequences of this was.

It's not so much that they are well armed, as that they make effective use of what little they have. That's their real advantage. As pointed out above, the Saudi's have phenomenal equipment, and a lot of it.

But they can't fight. Not on the strategic level, not on the tactical level, and certainly not at the unit level.

The Houthi coalition, on the other hand, has the Houthi's, who have a warrior tradition, a lot of practice, and know the terrain. But what's really giving them such an advantage is that the Republican Guard of the former Yemeni army has joined with them. They, along with Iranian advisors, make all the battle plans, provide leadership, and operate the more advanced equipment.

Leadership and soldiery >>>>>>>> equipment.

Nope.

The fsa used the ceasefire and the fight against Isis to build up arms and troop concentrations.

They broke the ceasefire in mass but gained nearly nothing. They lost far more troops to Russian CAS.

It was a small tactical retreat of only a few blocks at best. If a few blocks while waiting for the reinforcements because the fsa broke the ceasefire is getting BTFO then Isis and the FSA have been blown the fuck out so hard they're half way out of the solar system.

They need to bring reinforcements.

The SAA have been too complacent during the ceasefire. However, the rebels have been losing tons of men to airstrikes while the SAA have been tactically retreating under the cover of CAS.

When you're without the numbers, without armored support, without artillery support, and getting attacked by nusrats who have built arms in preparation for breaking the ceasefire, a situation like this is a fucking miracle.

But you cannot attack like this.

Luckily the breaking of the ceasefire just to accomplish gains this small has absolutely buried them. Before the ceasefire they were getting shit on, and now the US and the international community can't make a stink about it.

They just alienated themselves from the foreign support in a way that can only be described as suicidal.

The linking of this attack with Isis in Damascus shatters every straw the rebels have gained hold of when they signed the ceasefire.

>damage control

Yep. The ceasefire they broke was their damage control. They were getting blown the fuck out by the SAA and scrounged peace to rearm.

Any idiot can see that the fsa dug their graves with this move.

And any non toothpaste moron can see the gains made against a proper tactical retreat and round the clock CAS came at a cost not worth what they gained. They accomplished shit.

>>70456713

Nope. The ceasefire meme really did a number on the availible armor and heavy weapons they had there. They were not prepared for a massive breakage of the ceasefire linked up to Isis attacking Damascus.

But the rebels gained nothing compared to what they lost. The SAA are not the Saudis and the Russians are not Saudi pilots. Reinforcements and armored support are on their way.

For the last week before the idiot shitposters came we have seen the massive breakage of the ceasefire, the transport of armored support and reinforcements, but mainly the numbers from Russian CAS.

They're basically living on top of southern Aleppo currently. The Russians have completely and utterly destroyed the advance which outnumbered the SAA in the area by magnitudes.

>that massive advance of troops just to take that area
>they didn't even secure the territory and they're still getting bombed to hell
>theyve accomplished nothing of strategic or tactical value in that attack other than waste troops

I think that's it's for the rebels. Unless they have been getting an extreme resupply and refit (impossible as they do not have the supply lines), they've taken all the troops and equipment necessary for the defense of Aleppo just to throw them at the SAA completely open to Russian airstrikes.

Even if they took the villages, the only way for them to have accomplished anything is if they had lost no troops comparable to the SAA losses.

This is suicide on a level which may dwarf the Saudis after they were blown the fuck out by the houthis.

The Saudis have a supply line, massive amounts of equipment, and a shit ton of men and material to continue to throw.

I knew the offensive didn't gain much but this looks absolutely awful for the rebels. This is less than Isis and the rebels accomplished with less men against more troops when the sandstorm grounded the Russians.

Press F to pay respects to the rebels who can no longer defend Aleppo when the reinforcements show up.

What a fucking waste.

>the retard keeps posting

Also

>they're wasting TOW's on static positions
>against the enemy they dwarf in size
>the SAA don't have armor support or heavy weaponry support before the reinforcements come in
>and they're wasting their precious and dwindling number of ATGM's to fire against static positions just to shout allahu Akbar when they hit concrete or a hillside which the missiles are not meant for
>they broke the international ceasefire and destroyed the protection the UN and international community gave to them just to accomplish this

Listen Proxyfag diaspora, I know that you're grasping at straws just to shitpost, but nobody can possibly look at this and believe the rebels have done anything but commit suicide. They've destroyed their capability to defend Aleppo, the last stronghold they have. The main rebel base.

This lost them the war.

Stop shitposting and think rationally for a second.

BASED BRAZIL BRO
>>
>>70458943
You're an absolute retard

This shows that SAA is still the incompent "army" it was before the Russian intervention. The second Russia decides to pull back some of it's forces the SAA get's curbstomped on multiple fronts(Dumayr, Southern Aleppo, Latakia offensive stalled and rebeled counter attack)

The only thing propping up the regime are the foreign militia's which are getting their shit pushed in by al-Nusra as we speak.

The regime will not and can not win this war because of their sheer incompetence.

Now that the rebels are closing on Al Bab a second border crossing will make an offensive in North Aleppo possible.

It's looking bad for the regime, and unless the Russian will throw their full force again in Syria it's over for the regime.

inb4 it was just a tactical retreat!
