Bernie may say "free college tuition for everyone" HIllary will make it more reasonable by making it means tested so that only those with actual need get that assistance.
The result could be something along the lines of current pell grants and scholarships being focused on students with need (currently many students who don't have any financial need get scholarships and grants to entice them to enroll at that school and their parents pay the rest of the way in, it brings more funds to the college. That's not what financial aid is supposed to be for). So instead of getting a $1500 pell grant a student with need might get $4000 in pell grants per semester which would cover their tuition in state (and a pell grant is not a loan it doesn't need to be paid back).
There's compromises and progress that can be made and it's a balanced ticket.
I do want Bernie to win in the primaries but barring that I'd rather have him as VP than have him just fuck off back to the Senate and have Trump in the White House.

There's really too much still open to say what will happen in November. That's how I grew up, that tax credit paid for my school clothes as a kid.
