In Sunni Islam, Imam is the term for the people who lead prayer. Completely different meaning in Sunni Islam than in Shia Islam.
Some things I like about Sunni Islam is that you don't combine prayers, and instead of looking towards the Ayatollah's, you look towards the Sunnah.

Murder and killing people are different things. Murder is considered to be unjustified or coldblooded end of someone's life. Killing infidels and apostates is justified and therefore isn't a sin.
Here is the fundamental difference that seperates the Quran from the Torah and Bible and explains the prevalence of direct affirmation to commit atrocities. The Quran is a guidebook for how to be a conquering people whilst the Torah and Bible are written by and for conquered peoples (ie Babylonians and Romans) in order to be able to survive in the conqueror's world.
