I bought a MAGA hat the other day. I've never really been into the whole bumper sticker battle thing during the election cycle but I liked the hat and like the platform. I got it in the mail last night and almost got to wear it. Wife saw it and went into immediate shit fit mode. In LA the delegates who would have been awarded to candidates who fall under the threshold to get delegates become unbound
Hence Cruz, being a rat, moved in and grabbed them.
However grabbing delegates like that doesn't really help when Trump dwarfs you in terms of resources and connections and actual won delegates- since having actually won most if not all needed pledged delegates Trump is in a far better position to win on the first ballot as well as to win on the second ballot if there is one. It's kind of like if Cruz was Imperial Japan and bombed Pearl Harbor, and is now facing down Trump's America with its huge industrial and military capacity and steadily getting wrecked as time went on.
Cruz had an element of surprise, now he's lost it and will lose.

Delegates are always bound on the first ballot
Most states require them to be bound on the second ballot
So in reality in order for Cruz to win he needs to not only force a third ballot, he also needs to be able to actually win delegates. Statistically because Trump will have almost 1000 delegates by the beginning of May and with Indiana (assuming Indiana is like Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Ohio and thus favorable to Trump and not some crazy shithole that is completely different from neighboring states) then Trump will exceed 1,000
From there he'd breeze his way to around 1,350 delegates depending on how many unbound delegates he gets.
He would have to seriously underperform during the last stretch of the race for there to be a contested convention- and even then considering the number of unbound delegates even if he underperformed he would in most cases be like 10-20 delegates short.
The math is against Cruz regardless of his tricks. There would have to be serious rules lawyering bullshit like some delegates taking Corey Haugland's "ALL DELEGATES ARE UNBOUND BY NATURE" bullshit to heart and voting against Trump on the first ballot despite being bound then claiming "well that still counts as the first ballot so I guess a bunch more delegates are unbound now!".
No one likes rules-lawyering nerds. Especially not angry armed rednecks. Things won't end well for those fuccbois if they jew Trump out of the nomination.
