Delegate selection sucks, but it's because this isn't a thing that's supposed to happen. Everyone was terrified of the potential damage of a brokered convention to the party. They crucified Ron Paul over his stupid delegate stunt in 2012.
Delegate spots other than Credentials and Rules committee don't mean shit. They go to people who want to go to the convention and who are active enough in state/local GOP politics to get the support to win a delegate spot.
