Anecdotal story about a crap job I did to get myself through uni, but:
I worked in a shitty job alongside a large group of mostly eastern/central Europeans, and they were some of the coolest people I've ever worked with. Got the job done properly, down to earth and team players.
Then changed to another slightly higher paid, but still shitty job - mostly with Africans and other British staff. The Africans were dumb as shit. the British staff were arseholes and had turned into jobsworths and brown nosers because treating this job like the most important thing in the world was the only way they could reconcile how shit the job was and by extension, they were. No prospects.
I on the whole have no problem with central/eastern europeans moving here.
