2013 was the best year of my life, born in 96. Senior year of high school so these vids bring feels I can relate to. Doesn't even fucking 2013 seem so much different than now? Feels like a dream, I miss senior year of high school so fucking much.

I had a pretty shit time in high school. Arabs and chinks had taken over by the time I was there, most of my childhood memories are from when I was very young or playing video games with my friends. We never had time or money to go on adventures, not to mention the whole Arab thing.
>>
>>69961659

Are you saying that because you remembver it or becasue you are watching it.. lol

I remember watching it on LSD and thinking it was not really a very good film at the time.. I still hold that opinion but its a little bit of 80's trivia that I get to show my 80's cred referring to
>>
>>69962065
Then again all of my friends also hated niggers/shitskins and our school was almost all white.

This is a masterpiece in comparison with Rihanna, Iggy Azalea, Bieber One Direction and the rest of the dreck that's forcefed a totally uncritical and tasteless generation. Sure the song and clip are cheesy, but at least it has a tune, and the dancing is relatively normal unlike the aspie spastic style of dancing now prevalent. Also I can think of several worse 80s songs.
>>

Then you were listening to the wrong 80s music. And the song you posted is actually not that bad.

All my friends in high school were also from my tiny and 100% white elementary school. Of course they hated chinks and Arabs. The problem was that we were heavily outnumbered.

Although the gates were opened in 1965 from what I know the country didn't really start getting significantly darker until 1980ish onwards. The process was happening but it was too early to notice.

That in itself is kind of a feel but, it was all still so beautiful to notice or care.

And perhaps it is doing good. The more we can expose people to how good the American life once was, then maybe they will wake up and get redpilled. Life today sucks, and is dark. We need people to see it was not always that way. People have short memories.

Here's a good 80's story for you guys.

Me and my friends were all out cruising one night. Not sure if kids still do this, but basically it consists of driving around getting wasted, looking for other friends of yours driving around getting similarly wasted, and hollering rude things at them out the window.

Anyway it was late, late, late, like 3 a.m., and we were absolutely fucking ANNIHILATED. That was just how people rolled back then, seems like every party night ended with mass projectile vomiting.

There were 6 of us guys in Emory Kincaid's 1971 Datsun 240Z - one of the smallest cars ever built. My friends Rob and Tony were in the front passenger seat, Alyn would somehow sit between the gear-shift and the middle console with one leg over Emory's lap and the other over Rob and Tony's. Me and Chuck were in the hatch area, which was like 18 inches tall. Basically, no one could move an inch. Emory was the only one of us with a car at the time.

We got pulled over. Cop walked up to the window, first thing he said, "You boys been drinking?"

Like 4 of us said "No sir" at the same time.

"Well, sure smells like someone's been drinking something." We had probably about 8 or 9 partially-consumed half-pints of various liquor in the car - which we'd purchased without fake ID's because the liquor store guy was just cool like that.

Emory said, "Yes sir, you're right, they're lying, we've been drinking."

"Well, where do you live?"

"Tulip Grove." (about 5 miles away)

"Think you can make it?"

"Oh definitely, yes sir."

"Well, don't let me find out you boys didn't go straight home."

"Yes sir."

So we went home.

Found a picture of the car. Even the same color, though Emory's paint job wasn't so pristine.

Good times.

This guy was right too, but the rose colored glasses aren't total. We still look back on the radio garbage of the last 1980s, the Janet Jacksons and Poisons and so forth, as though it as okay at the time when in fact it was genuine garbage, but it also made for a musical counterculture that was mainly about good music instead of politics or status.

>>69962142
The 2000s were pretty alright. It was the panic of 2008 that ruined it. People stayed home every night and music about going out began to dominate the airwaves. The shut-ins formed online gangs and when they graduated high school they brought their ugliness to the campuses in a form they'd never seen before, and there they picked up savvy and credentials that allowed them to take their ugliness back to the rest of the world in refined form.

Seven years on the freaks who should have killed themselves are earning positions of power in the media, but they're still grinding those miserable axes that caused them to spend their childhoods and teenage years on LiveJournal and tumblr.

You kids are all a bunch of faggots. For real. I fucking hate all of you millenials. You all think you know everything because you have your stupid computers and your internet, but you can't comprehend that there is a vast ocean of human experience beyond what has been archived digitally for you asswipes to look at and listen to.

The late 70's and entire 80's up until about 1993 (lets say 1978-93) were the best 15 years this planet will ever see. Nothing can ever top it. You will never have the freedom we had, the drugs (I'm talking amazing psychedelics that were everywhere and which were guaranteed to expand your mind and give you life.changing experiences every time). Girls were actually fucking cool as shit for the most part and down to hang out with almost any guy (I mean, the only way you couldn't find a girlfriend is if you were a full on August who simply refused to leave the house). Music and movies were infinitely better (horror and sci fi from that period is arguably the pinnacle of the medium of Film itself). Fucking radio actually played great music, even top 40 music was fucking great. The thing about radio that trumps internet music listening is that people were all tuned into the same broadcast that played through everyone's radio at the EXACT SAME TIME. no latency. You didn't have every single person tuned into something completely different than everyone else. The spirit of radio created a sense of community and spawned most of the great musical movements we have seen in the 20th century. Pirate and college radio played great underground tunes.
Bookstores actually gave us access to more in depth knowledge on subjects rather than stripped down Wikipedia articles and biased blog posts and editorials. Journalism had integrity. People had integrity. Artists weren't a bunch of annoying trust fund faggots and were actually edgy people with original ideas.

The cost of living was totally manageable even for near-NEET Slackers (and jobs existed)

You see, all you stupid faggot millennials think of when you think of the 80's is the lame fucking pop culture bullshit you're fed by retro TV shows and websites. That shit accounted for almost none of people's daily life. You want to talk about music?? The best music ever created came out of the underground in the late 70's and 80's. Punk, Metal, Post-Punk, New Wave, Cold wave, Industrial, Thrash, Electro, Early House and Techno, even early Hip Hop was great. 95% of today's music is fucking garbage. The only good shit is fucking derivative of 80's music. Same goes for movies. Hollywood fucking blows. 99% of the movies that come out are boring, predictable garbage with scripts written for autistic 12 years olds and old ladies. CGI fucking sucks compared to analog effects from the 80's. Compare Blade Runner or the original Star Wars with anything that comes out with CGI and tell me the old shit isn't completely superior.

I don't have rosecoloured glasses like you, friend. Although there is a lot of truth in what you're saying. What can be of no doubt is that then was a much better time to be alive. But trying to live a good life is possible even now.

Yeah faggots really didn't mind catching a little shit from straights back then. Because it didn't fucking matter if they minded or not IMO, but for whatever reason, when they found out it was cool to get offended, they rolled with that like a freight train from hell.

I wish some of you young bucks out there would just start calling things like you see them. Faggots are faggots. Retards are retarded - it's a perfectly suitable word, their intellectual growth was retarded - it's in the fucking dictionary for Christ's sake. Lesbians are dykes. Why? Because they don't like that word, and WE don't like lesbians. Why should we, we're not getting any pussy off of them.

Anyway, you say dysfunctional. I say the way things are today is dysfunctional, and we had it exactly right.

BTW, guys, if you're looking for the reason we can't have nice things anymore, the answer is Nancy Reagan's War on Drugs. That's when the proverbial paradigm began shifting to what we have today in the USA, which is a police state, censored speech, mass poverty, and everything else that happens when the government suddenly realizes the people will let them get away with literally any violation of their Constitutional rights.

90's kid here, from a small town, cultural lag is a great thing. much of my youth is full of similar experiences, nobody had cellphones, and only a few friends had a TV in their room (i will never forget getting my first radio). Even as the poor kid life was OK, i dont ever recall being board, and if i was what ever garbage was on one of the 3 TV channels was more than enough to keep me entertained until something was going on. I recall cruising up and down the strip in my small town for hours in my old pickup because gas we $.75, just looking for friends and entertainment... but the drive alone was nearly enough for us with the radio cranked. Even early 90's music (alt rock) was decent... but a bit darker.

I remember going to the city (Chicago) and doing things the same way my grandmother likely did. Things changed... almost over night but multiple things led to it... 9/11 thank you jews

My father has been working the same job for 30 years now, had some before too. Makes a bit more than you. We moved into an average sized house built in the early 80s when I was a young lad in 2002, today that house is worth 1.5 million dollars. The Arabs and Chinese fight like wild animals to buy property. Parents are considering a move from the town they lived in for 60 years since it's literally all Arab now.

I stepped outsdie the back of my High School one day to smoke a bowl... Iwas facing away from the building taking a hige deep hit when I heard a voice saying;" you're not smoking marijuana are you?

as I turned around I saw it was the Principle.. I stuffed the brass pipe into the buttons of my shirt and let out this huge cloud of weed smoke right into his face as I said;" nooooo..." the pipe clanked on the big brass belt buckle I was wearing and the blazing embers started burning my stomach ..

"get indie" said the Principle and that was it... today I'd probably have been tackled by school cops handcuffed , arrested and driven to the local cop shop

I normally wouldn't do this, guys, because I'm not particularly nostalgic for the 80's like some people are.

But in the 80's, I was a professional rock DJ. I can say without hesitation that I know more about 80's music than anyone ITT, or possibly anyone who still listens to 80's music.

So I'm gonna post 2 videos. The first one is what I consider the best song of the 80's - a song that still gets stuck in my head at least once a week almost 35 years later:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuFId1RYSZE

And here is the quintessential 80's sound - new wave - by the quintessential new wave band:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9GMjH1nR0ds

You're welcome.
>>
The only reason why we're talking about the 80's today is because retro 80's culture started being promoted hard in '08 around the time Obama was elected by the en vogue hipster fags in the fashion and general pop culture industry and people haven't shut up about ever since.
For me growing up in the 90's; anything before '92 was gay, 93-98 was the shit. Don't even get me started on 50's nostalgists (aka Glenn Beck fans).

By 1980/1990 Jews and whites had integrated well in capitalist society, there was very little of what Jews consider cultural degeneracy outside of the drug problem (which hurt both groups). Hitler was a distant memory, Russia was failing, and China was looming over the distance. Western Jews looked at whites and saw them more and more as a common ally with similar goals.

Then came the internet and fucked it all right up.

What I find amazing is that this whole mid-2000's seems to be the common "guess" at to when society started to crumble.

I think that was about when the whole "gay rights" thing really started to spark, and from those flames came feminism rushing in, and just as society starts to wake up to feminism we are hit with BlackLivesMatter, and immigration.

We are white people, we have recessive genes, we've dropped from making up 85% of this country to less than 65%, and we will be minorities in about 20 years.

The "downfall" wasn't really economic, it was cultural. We lost our unified culture in exchange for praising all other cultures.

"All cultures are equal!", says the person who would never admit that their culture is equal to the culture of Nazi Germany.
>>
>>69967971
I actually prefer Blue Monday, although after listening to Driver 8 a few times in a row, it does have something to it. REM is more of a 90s band with a 90s feel, this music is depressive (just like Losing My Religion) so no wonder 90s normies prefer it. I like 80s music for the tunes, the upbeat feel, that it generally gives a feel of wellbeing. REM are pretty downbeat and dour bro

JJJ were the same here. But I would agree that Nirvana were a net negative, you had lots of 90s bands just trying to be thrashy without any real talent. Lots of 'musicians' trying to be eebil. This is one of the reasons why I hate the 90s.
REM were as insanely depressive as some of the 80s were insanely boppy and upbeat. It's one mindless lack of logic replaced by another, except the 2nd one makes you feel worse.

For most of the "indie" bands - absolutely. They'll freely admit to being obsessed with the 80's. Electronic music however is constantly evolving. The problem is that it doesn't translate well into a traditional music "scene", so the whole experience is fucking less engaging. Disappointing too, because with modern technology musicians have never been this creatively enabled in all of history.

My parents have fallen victim to this. It's surreal. I expect millenials to be obsessed with it, but not boomers.

That makes sense. When someone was just recording back then, only maybe their family would see it. Now any time someone whips out a phone, it's liable to be a nationwide or worldwide viral video to demonize or make fun of you for something. Not everyone wants to potentially be on tv at any given moment of the day.

The satanic jews want us to be watched at all times so we're easier to control, and so have artificially created this narcissistic culture that revolves around putting everything about yourself on display to get people to end up facilitating it ourselves.

PATRICIAN CHOICE SIR.

those were some weird years for me growing up. 97 had me feel like i was lost in the universe, and 98 was a fucking terrible year for me with my grandmother dying, house being burned down, cousin getting shot in the face by some guy the cops let go on a technicality (he survived, but being shot in the face sucks), and then girlfriend breaking up with me because her mother wanted her to marry this rich redneck from a crooked ass family that ran crystal meth, whorehouses, liquor houses, and all sorts of shit, all in the space of 4 1/2 months.

moving away to another part of the country after the millennium was the best choice i ever made.

I feel like we live in a fairly good time, but it would have been fun to go to a highschool without cellphones..

Cell phone were a thing right in my senior year. A couple years before that maybe one person had their dads cell phone from work on the weekend, and everyone would trade cigarette's to make a call on it.

I can't image what it is like now, do kids even class?

GUYS THEY ARE REMOVING AND REPLACING OLDIES SONGS WITH 80'S AND 90'S MUSIC AS "OLDIES." SONGS BEFORE 1970 WERE REMOVED FROM HISTORY. JUST LISTEN TO THE RADIO. THEY ARE ALL GONE

THIS IS JUST LIKE THE BERNSTEIN BEARS BULLSHIT

THAT HOLE THAT THE 9/11 INCIDENT IS SUCKING THINGS OUT OF OUR HISTORY!

US media was alright until 1995 when they did away with the media controls a few years after the fall of the Berlin wall.

Before that we had media ownership rules to prevent communist influence.

it was about a million times harder to bait people into grievances. access to too much information and bad information has fucked us as much as it's helped.
