What have you been eating during this time?
Have you done any hunting and/or fishing?
What was the most valuable tool you brought with you?

Lots of nuts, I mix chia seeds with every sip of water I take for energy and to fill me up.

I fish either with a net or a collapsible pole using snap weights and grubs.

Most valuable tool is definetely the hatchet. Trust me it is.

>>69917930
I don't have to worry about bear too until I get further west, that goes for wolves too. I brought bear spray just in case. Only critters that have been around are coyotes

I truly believe something life altering will occur this summer. Situations are from and I'm a survivor type.

I'm going to Tahoe to meet up with a group and were headed to Baja, Mexico to lay low.

I spend alot of time naked. Dry clothes are essential so I always have everything airing out on branches or inside my tent. I always make sure everything is organized and that I don't misplace anything. I change the filters on my water collectors. I spend maybe 3-4 hours each day scouting around the area looking for anything (brush, water, small animals) I'm always asleep before 9pm.

I also keep a diary.
>>
>>69919219
1 HTC one (no plan) and a charger. If don't have it on often, if I need to charge it I can either wind charge it or go into a town and sit in a fast food joint and charge it.

I have a wind up AM/FM radio

I also have a large collection of maps, you can always get area maps from state park places or on the trails too. I predominantly use a compass/map and landmarks

Ahaha you homeless piece of shit.

I bet bugs crawl all over you while you sleep.

I'm in my comfy house at night tucked under covers in a climate controlled room. Shit's nice. You're out there shitting in holes and at the mercy of the weather.

Sucks to be you, shithead.

Going into the woods doesn't mean becoming a homeless piece of shit. I always thought it meant building a log cabin and living in a rural area. Who the fuck literally goes out into the woods? You're going to run out of food ya dipshit.

I am very jealous. Life is boring. Nature is the perfect place for quiet contemplation and thought. The second I am able, a nice home with a large wooded lot is my goal.

Walk outside and keep going. Or be constructive and run a rig and get contracts stumping ect. Exploration ect hasn't stopped, only productions has really slowed much in your country.

It's not remotely hard, I used to stay out in the bush for months at a time AND work 12 hours a day in the summer, and every moment of daylight in the winter.
>>
>>69921004
do not be jealous. this guy is a hobo. no intelligent person would go innawoods in prep for some world-changing event. humans are a social animal and loners will not survive an event like that. hobos like him would be shot on sight if what he thinks is going to happen... happens.

best thing to do is move to a place you like and become a functioning member of the local society. get to know and interact on a personal level with your neighbors so you know who to collaborate with and who to remove when IT happens.
>>

You're lucky, I love the woods and once spent a summer in the woods in Norway with some friends camping and hunting.

In Britain, our biggest woods are tiny. You can walk from one end to the other in an hour. It sucks. I would love nothing more than spend weeks on end camping in the woods again. Any recommendations fellow Brits or Euros?

and then what? you'll just wander around camping and living out of dumpsters until the happening? is your group going to build your own off-grid compound and start a feast/famine hand-to-mouth agrarian lifestyle in the name of self-sufficiency in prep for the happening?

immature or retarded, bro. you really should use this adventure as an opportunity to find a place where you would like to live and become a part of. there are plenty of small towns that still have that hardy can-do attitude... where they have a dentist, a doctor, builders, farmers, etc. all the varied skills necessary for a functioning society.

a group of 'survivalists' will ultimately be looking for that type of society after the first winter of the happening.
of course... what i describe is hard work and not very exciting, so carry on mr. vagabond. keep us updated on your progress.

I caught a stomach virus early on in the trip which kept me in Pennsylvania for a 3 days.

Other than that nothing much, light scrapes and cuts. Just be sure to bring lots of anti-septic wipe ups. Keeping even a small cut clean is key.

It's no so much injury for me as it is illness, I can try and prevent an injury best I can but I have to prepare for an illness

It all depends on your plan, if you plan to move around and group up (like I'm doing) then you should bring a trail tent and necessary food and medical supplies.

If you're planning on sheltering out then location is key, a place that has water close by you can fish and filter and bathe. There are places I've come across that I've wanted to just settle in because it was perfect. But I kept going with my plan.

You should shoot someone before you go innawoods.

Good way to LARP being a fugitive, plus you'll have the alibi that wou were already going innawoods.

This is what you do - take the barrel off your rifle, usually it's just one screw. Put barrel and stock in a bag. Hide in a bush like the DC sniper and shoot someone. Then go innawoods and bury the rifle, use your back-up rifle to hunt.

That's the best way to LARP being a fugitive, you can even rework this RP into you're an escaped POW or something because you'll still feel the pressure that someone is wanted for something and everyone needs to hide in the woods ( because of the murder you committed (but you'll never be caught so it's RP)).

yeah... that social drive is satisfied by the intangible relationship they find here. it's an insubstantial thing that won't help in the real world. real, positive, physical relationships and knowing how to interact with other humans who may or may not have your best interest in mind is important.

i think most of us will starve to death in a shtf situation because we'll be burned and blinded by the sunlight as soon as we step out the door in search of food.

Good for you, OP. I'm planning my exit from society too at some point next year. I'm converting a van and aiming for a self-sustained life on the road. I have no fucking idea where I'll go. By the time I set off, much of Europe will have fallen to the migrant hoardes. I might aim for Africa, and find somewhere remote to settle down for a bit and grow a shitload of dank weed. It's highly likely I'll be raped and possibly killed on my adventure, but I guess it beats the 9-5 routine.

God speed, OP.

be honest with your op. say that you're traveling across the country using civilization as a daily crutch. walking along the roads from town to town, camping out when you can't find a shelter, and gradually spending your life's savings on trail mix.

Loads of space, man. I've checked Google Earth and everything. I'm sure I'll find somewhere remote. Or at least a remote tribe who worship me as a white-skinned God. The African people will surely grow to love me, and teach me the ways of the warrior.

This is actually the one and only thing I envy about MERIKANS: your countries are HUGE.
That means you can fuck off in the wild and possibly disappear forever with little effort, that's how much room you have there.
Small, populated countries like Italy don't allow for this.
Apulian countryside and "wilderness" is so good I literally get sick if I don't visit every few months, but I can't pack it and fuck off without meeting someone else on their stroll

http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/aug/12/russia-and-nato-war-games-increase-risk-of-real-clash-reports-says

could start in the Middle East;
