That's mostly because most of them lived in the Soviet Union after the war and don't speak English. Makes sense since they were all the camps furthest to the East and all of them were liberated by Soviets.
One of the things about the Holocaust is if they couldn't find somebody who was sent to one after the war they just sort of assumed they were dead and told any living relatives that.
The big problem with that is that there was a little thing called the iron curtain and there wasn't much information going from one side to the other, so if one family member ended up on one side and another on the other, both would most likely have been told their relative was dead.
This actually happened to David Cole once when he went on a shitty talk show to debate some Holocast survivor and the guy's big line was that his brother was sent to a death camp and is now dead and if that's not proof than what is? Sounds powerful, but the guy's brother was just living in the Soviet Union and when the curtain came down in the 90's, the brother in Russia saw his brother on TV and appeared on the show in a later episode to have a reunion, of course completely missing the irony here.

Ok but I've always believed the Holocaust, then I watched an incredible long documentary called Shoah, and the testimonies in that seemed so fake I wasn't sure if I was watching some sort of weird spoof. So I searched online and found that some of the interviews had been staged specifically for the documentary (one scene shot in the barbershop had people crowding in gradually as the barber told his story, but this was entirely staged).
