What does pol think about motorcycles as a form of transportation?

>great on gas (~80mpg on a 250cc bike)
>cheaper than cars
>less traffic congestion
>can fit up to 5 bikes in 1 parking spot
>not as dangerous as people think (wear gear and don't be a retard)
>fun as fuck

And why does North America have to be so cucked when it comes to lane filtering? Is it just because old politicians think bikes are scary? (except California)
>>
>>69825569
great for organ donations as well!
>>
>rain
>buying things bigger than a backpack
>too cold in some places

The lane filtering ban keeps American roads from devolving into Brazilian intersections. Why did we cap speed on bikes? All it does is hold back the companies from developing faster and more efficient motors which could be used in other things. Is traveling 220mph really that much more dangerous than traveling 180mph?
>>
>>69825569

They emit more polution than cars.
>>
>>69825569
no it is much more dangerous than you think, you could be the most cautious, diligent motorcyclist and still get cutoff by some 89 year old woman who can barely see over the wheel anymore, and boom you are dead, I've lost friends and family from motorcycles and have known a lot of people who have gotten hurt, including myself

that being said they are still pretty based, been thinking about getting a harley type motorcycle although i want to keep my truck.
used to not like harleys and only liked street bike and dirt bikes, butfor some reason harleys appeal to me even though I'm 19, even though i used to think choppers were for old farts, but idk all bikes are pretty cool
>>

I donĀ“t like it, takes way to much time to get in gear, uncomfortable in many ways also.

They only ones that are fun are cruisers that errent too loud, during the summer time. But hell no to all year commuting. I want my comfy, warm cage.

Some illegal ran one over on the highway and didn't even stop, instadead. Luckily her license plate fell off and she was found right as the car was being towed away to be disposed of.

I love riding. There are a lot of benefits to a 300 vs a 250 though which I will be posting in a summarized video on my youtube channel in the future. FYI my channel is ToroMoto btw. Anyways fuel injected bikes are less maintenance than carbeurated bikes, and have considerably more power for only a 50cc difference. Lane filtering would also be super nice... since I commute to and from Hamilton to Toronto and splitting would save a ton of time. Insurance is a MASSIVE rip off here in Canada though. Motorcycles also help me to reduce stress and blow off some steam after long days at school or at work. All in all, if you can get affordable insurance, I highly recommend it.

ALSO, the riding community is amazing. Everyone becomes a bro. I can say I have really met a bunch of top notch people through riding.

In Canada the insurance runs in categories of 0cc-100, 101 - 200, 201 - 300 etc etc.
Thus, insurance for a 250 and a 300 is the same rate. ~1600 for my 300. If insurance cost wasn't an issue I would have went with a ZX-6R, CBR600RR, or a WR450 enduro. To give you a frame of reference, for me a ZX-6R would be ~ $6000/year to insure on a clean record because I'm <25.

>>
>>69832003
Abs is a neat feature, however it can prevent new riders from properly learning to brake properly because some new riders just grab a handful of brake on abs bikes, but when they transfer to other bikes without abs, they will end up in a ditch very quickly. If you've never ridden before, you owe it to yourself to watch "Twist of the Wrist 2" You can find it on YT and it's the best riding guide for new riders out there.

I'm going to stop you right there.

1 typical new efficient car can fit 5 for 40 mpg gallon conservatively

A bike (lets be honest no one drives on a 250cc scooter unless you're in asia) can only seat one realistically. not to mention storage and commute through weather comfortably with less gas mileage than the car that can seat 5 at full capacity.

Bike society is a meme and so are you.

>Is traveling 220mph really that much more dangerous than traveling 180mph?
Yes, because E=mv^2, huge emphasis on v^2.... going 10 over 60 vs 10 over 180 yield way different changes in kinetic energy.

Past a certain speed you're just a giant steel bullet waiting to not just kill yourself, but another driver on the road.

It's a high as fuck risk of dying especially when I drive at night but it's soooooooo worth it

>have Bluetooth surround in dark helmet

It's soooooooo worth it. Just pure bliss.

It's so relaxing.

>>69833103

Yup, I kept it after graduating to bigger bikes.

Gave it a smaller sprocket, a bash plate, a freer exhaust and it's an ideal offroad toy.

Gaston Rahier, just looked him up, he looks way smaller than me despite his stats being comparable (I'm only an inch or two taller)

Anyway I don't know where to start. Naturally it'll need to be a 125cc, cheap, reliable and preferably easy to maintain.

I've been watching youtube videos about motorcycling for a couple of years now, I just need to get the balls to do my CBT so I can actually ride and figure out what to buy.

Here's the problem with motorcycles.

Some People can't drive.

Not all. Not most. Some.

And one random asshole, no matter how good of a driver you are, will inevitably find and hit you. It happens. It will happen. If you live in any kind of area with any kind of population density it is tantamount to fate that some dickfuck will bump vehicles with you because his girlfriend Stacy fucked Chad behind his back.

It might be 10 MPH, it might be 60.

Do you want to be on a motorcycle when that happens?

This, bikers are the biggest douches, next to bicyclers, they think they own the road just because they are more vulnerable, yet take more risks because it's their stupid choice to make.

I almost hit a biker, because he tried to speed pass me while i had my blinker on for at least 5 seconds. Then he got pissed off, because I was supposed to yield for him because he's holds some special privilege or some shit.

NO. Biker mentality is entitlement cancer.

THEY NEED TO GO.

Also there's nothing actually stopping you from riding a higher CC.

The 125 limit is just for learners (people on the road who haven't even got their license yet). As soon as you get that, you can ride higher CCs.

There's another cut off that you can't go past until you have a certain amount of time on the bike itself, but you can bypass this by doing a higher level exam.

I'm not entirely sure because I don't even have a license yet, but I did some reading a few months ago into it.

Seems like a better way to do it than giving every chucklefuck access to 200kg rockets to smash into each other.

Not very fast. I've been to France and Germany with it. and all over UK. I never go on motorways. I'm scared of getting smashed by wagons and cars.

My mate has a really fast Jap bike. It's Kawasaki 750 turbo. It has ridiculous speed. It's too dangerous for me. He let me ride it. I fucking almost shit myself. I had trouble just keeping my hands on the bars. Fucking 60 mph in first gear.
