People with slightly above average intelligence for instance may be smart enough to realise that some generalisations are unfair to many, but not intelligent enough to realized why those prejudices exist in the first place and what role they fill. Math major here. Some of my colleges probably average 145-150 on the IQ scale as I'm 140 myself and not the brightest of them.
