I don't see more kurds gains in Deir Ezzor/Hasaka, but they deploy a lot of shit again in Manjib, they now see joint North Aleppo Pocket with the rest of Rojava.

So with this, SAA can push ISIS into another struggle to make more gains.

ISIS isn't powerful because they aren't 200k soldiers in one country, but 200k deployed in various countries and for worse, losing money/manpower/weapons everyday.
>>
>>67837358

Well I think all those north settlements around Deir will be abandoned by isis when Saa lifts its siege and prepares to capture the rest of the town.

Deir is an important city because it could help the Raqqa offensive

>>
>>67838464
Or maybe Raqqa is an important city because it can help the Deir Offensive?
>>
>>67838464

The Pocket of Deir Ezzor was the most important thing of the Syrian War, imagine the material waste there to try to advance just a few metter after being pushed back. ISIS lost since they failed the offensive in Ayashia/Badaliya was pushed back with 1k militants death, because now the lost East Aleppo/Khannase and are almost about to lost Manjib/Palmyra/Hit/Al-Quaryatayn in just few weeks, with a lot of death in their way.
>>
>>67838826
Raqqa, except for maybe Mosul, is ISIS most guarded city. They need to do several cuts before they attempt to take it.

They need to cut off, North aleppo's supply route, take Tabqa and I, believe, Deir.
>>
>>67838976
Palmyra's a fucking fortress tho, isn't it?

Fuck me. The Tiger's got his job cut out for him.
>>
>>67838494
sleep well, man
>>
>>67839153

Palmyra from West to East, is a fucking fortress, from East to West, plain soil, easy to shell and capture.

But what is the importance of this fight now? ISIS can't be able to push back any loss in their gains now, hell, Khanasser offensive end with ISIS retreating to Raqqa.
>>
>>67837762
>>67838061
tks
>>
>>67839118
The kurds will likely profit from this situation.

>>67838976
Yeah, at first I didn't think Deir would be that important but now I see it.

>>67839153
Palmyra is very important to isis, it's literally the only thing stopping Saa from arriving to Deir. There're like two villages ahead and that's it, the rest is just desert
>>
>>67839153
a huge convoy of reinforcements are being moved from latakia to palmyra.
SAA aren't joking around here, they will take palmyria, and with NSA cutting of the iraq-qaraytayn highway, it's made isis even weaker.
>>
>>67839492
The importance is the race between the SAA and the SDF in liberating as much ISIS lands for themselves as possible, to control the political outcome of the war.

Unfortunately, the SAA has in front of them the toughest fortresses of ISIS outside of Raqqa while the Kurds are right now breathing down the neck of Raqqa itself.

Not the best situation for the SAA, you might agree.
>>
>>67839941

People is see Raqqa like a "Just a city" a lot here.

Raqqa is the capital of ISIS with Mosul the second one, but i can see ISIS retreating to Raqqa more ofter to stop SDF/YPG forces.

SAA and YPG know that pushing Raqqa mean nothing if ISIS is still holding important cities like Manjib, Jarabalous, Al-Bab, Deif Hafer, Tabqar, Palmyra, Deir Ezzor and Al-Quaryatayn, because ISIS would do anything posible in Syria reinforce the front in Raqqa.

The important race is to go to Deir Ezzor to cross the river there and push back ISIS in a hell of a pocket with SAA and YPG in East of Deir Ezzor and recovering the Iraq border.
>>
>"Big Gains" on thread name
>open map to see changes and saa gains
>mfw frontline probably moved 5mm in the last 3 weeks
>>
>>67840415
Yup pretty much.

They need to do several cuts before even attempting to attack the city.
>>
>>67840415
Actually, given the recent events, it turns out Raqqa isn't as solidly ISIS as we thought - Mosul might actually be their last stand as things develop from my perspective.

That doesn't discount how well fortified Raqqa must be - it probably is, being their base at least in Syria.

We also have tried again and again to predict ISIS' gameplan only to fail time and again. No one here has ever predicted ISIS' continuing and suicidal push for Deir Ezzor.

No one really predicted their surprise surge southeast of Aleppo when it happened.

We don't know what ISIS will do - or even which cities really matter to them. What we do know is they do NOT act like a predictable conventional army, and it might be good to keep that firmly in mind.

yes. the people of raqqa want to see ISIS go. this is evident from the uprisings that happened there. yes they were quelled, that this marks instability and low morale in their own capital. once YPG and SAA threaten raqqa city, the uprisings will start again. and this time, they wont be stopped.
>>
>>67841155
I'm quite recent to /sg/
is Palmyra a fortress?
Can it be taken out with artillery or airstrikes?
How armed is ISIS to defend Palmyra
You seem quite knowledgeable
>>
>>67841923
>is Palmyra a fortress?
Well, it's stood against the SAA far better than anything it's ever come against lately.

And that's a long list of hard wins:

Latakia, East Aleppo, Daraa, even the Road to Taqaba, just southeast of Raqqa "ISIS Capital" is eing liberated faster than Palmyra.

As Chilebro argues, the terrain is very bad going west to east, apparently, which is exactly what the SAA is doing.

I don't doubt one second that the based Tiger himself, Suheil Al-Hassan can liberate it, but it will be his toughest (and largest, apparently) battle yet.
>>
>>67841923
>is Palmyra a fortress?
Isis rats are quite entrenched there. There are also some old fortress used by them.

>Can it be taken out with artillery or airstrikes?
No, but they're vital in order to take it.

>How armed is ISIS to defend Palmyra
This is an all or nothing battle, isis won't simply give up. If they fail to secure it Saa will have a direct line to deir zor, another highway to attack Tabqah and, in general, a better chance to attack isis on raqqa.

If Raqqa fails is game over for isis in syria
>>
>>67842479
I just wonder where that walking pond scum Al-Baghdadi is hiding right now though?

I sort of doubt he's still in Raqqa and is now hiding out somewhere in Libya.
>>
>>67841923
Palmyra is large and heavily fortified. It is one of the few ISIS strongholds; they have a lot of land but very few major cities and this is one of them. If it falls, then the area past it is mostly desert so the Syrian army can easily capture it and break the siege of Deir Ezzor and for the first time, have a foothold in Central Syria. But o make things harder, Palmyra is also a heritage site holding thousands of years of history which makes Assad and the Russians reluctant to just bomb/shell the whole place to bits. For this reason, this is probably going to be a long battle.

I think Libya is just perfect. It's in the middle of a massive upheaval like Syria, except it's the splitting image of what Syria could've been had Assad fallen. No Central gov, no army to protect anyone, only local warlords and warring factions.

Add to that Russia doesn't want anything to do with Libya (as of now), and the only airstrikes likely to happen there are only Western cuckstrikes.

It's the perfect hideout.

Not good. It plays into the western narrative of partitioning Syria, but thankfully, their bulldog, Turkey won't accept any such thing.

Only adds tension between the Kurds and Assad.

Yes they did, all those victories mentioned above are successful rebel assaults even if the rebels did receive some help from the Gods of war.

Damage control. You know full well that the airport was to be a spearhead to enter Donetsk proper.

Hohols breaking a ceasefire agreement does not mean the rebels are more likely to lose. It just means that the Hohols decided to occupy a neutral town.

Question:
Why don't they just go around Palmyra and besiege it instead of capturing it? Then they can starve them to death. And if UN complains that they are starving, Assad will say that their aid convoys got attacked by ISIS while trying to reach them. Nobody will question it because nobody cares about ISIS. And if they do, tell the them to send food themselves if they like. Then after a month of barely any food, launch the offensive. Destroy them all. Reclaim the clay. Remain undefeated.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genie_Energy

>Genie Energy Ltd.is an American energy company headquartered inNewark, New Jersey. It is a holding company comprising Genie Retail Energy, a retail energy provider in the United States, and Genie Oil and Gas, which develops conventional oilandoil shaleprojects in theUnited States,Mongolia, andIsrael, including in the occupiedGolan Heights.

>Genie was part ofIDT Corporationbut was spun off on October 31, 2011, at which point Class B common stock of Genie Energy Ltd. began trading on the NYSEunder the ticker symbol "GNE".[1]

And of course none of these morons see that Ukraine in the EU threatens our national interests.

Now here is the good part that implicates Israel and the aforementioned men.

>In February 2013, Israeli authorities awarded Afek Oil and Gas an exclusive 36-month petroleum exploration license to a 153-square-mile (400km2) plot in theGolan Heights, which theUN recognizes to be Syrian territory.[9][10][11][12]
>Occupied Syrian territory
>Afek subsequently conducted above-ground geophysical tests and based on its preliminary analysis, has applied for a ten well exploratory drilling program.[13]South ofKatzrinin the southern Golan Heights in 2015, Afek discovered a substantial amount of oil and natural gas reserves that could make Israel energy self-sufficient.[14][15][16]
>make Israel energy self-sufficient
>The company drilled three exploratory wells: in May, Ness-5, just northwest of theAvnei Eitanand Nov moshavimand south ofKibbutz Naturand the town of Katzrin; in July, Ness-3, near theBnei Yehudaindustrial area; and, in September, Ness-6, located near the entrance ofMoshav Kanaf, just southeast ofGamla.[17]As of October 2015, an estimate of the volume of resources and to what extent they may be extractable is unknown.

Pretty sure the Israelis found this oil years ago, bought our politicians including Dick Cheney, and instigated the war so they could destabilize the region, destroy Syria and now take the oil uncontested.

Read the second half, they're drilling for a massive amount of oil in the Syrian Golan Heights. If Syria was a whole nation and Assad hadn't been discredited in the UN and international community the Syrians could contest the drilling, the UN still recognizes the Golan Heights as Syrian.
Now in their current state they cannot. I believe the rebels and ISIS are Israeli proxies and useful idiots created to serve this purpose, the securing of that oil.

Low (realistic) estimates of casualties for the Hohols are in the thousands.

Russian Forces from Buryatia did actually participate in the battle. But it is part of the reason why the Hohols got slaughtered there. Buryat tankers with T-72B3s (the one in your picture is a plain T-72B which to be fair was passed over to the rebels by the Russian military) were sent into Debaltsevo to close the kotel. They closed the kotel and took zero casualties. The Hohols could not have been more cucked by the literal descendants of the Mongol horde.

>The US Army trained a few separate Neo-Nazi platoons.
Believing in the neo nazi maymay. You swallowed russian propaganda without a fit. also
>moving the goal post
>Combat experiences in Syria show a far different tale.
Is that really an accomplishment? Trust me ive browsed /k/ enough to know that slavshit is shit.
>You want me to name another example? BTR-4s that the Hohols have been using. Supposedly world class APCs that even managed to be sold to the Iraqis. Except that the Iraqis returned the BTR-4s because their hulls were cracked. You know your domestic defense industry is shit when even Arab armies reject it.
At least they can produce their own apc's and not have to depend there entire army on a country who's only goal in this war is to destabilize Ukraine because Gazprom said so.
>Hard to picture what the Hohol army is then.
shitty back then less shitty now
>lol you actually believe that narrative?
are you trying to say Russia isn't going bankrupt
>And who is going to stop them? Ukraine?
Ukraine, the EU, their president, ect,.
>>
>>67853514
>the EU
lol
>>
>>67853710
Ok fine not the EU but your own country is almost allied with Ukraine
>>
>>67853514
Svoboda and Pravi sector are literal nazis and worship Stepan Bandera. Azov Battalion is proudly and outspokenly neo-nazi.

Do you honestly believe anyone will fall for your blatant lies?

>the eu
>doing shit
Sorry Hohol, us Dutch are saying no to the association agreement on April 6, and your association treaty goes bye bye. We dont want to spend money on your bullshit.
>>
>>67853995
Slavic nationalists =/= nazi's
>>
>>67853514
>their nothing punching through anything right now.
What is Minsk II?
>look at a fucking map
I am, name just one better point that Donetsk Airport.
>Believing in the neo nazi maymay
Nah, you're willfully ignorant of the political situation there.
>Trust me ive browsed /k/ enough to know that slavshit is shit.
>Trust me ive browsed /k/
> browsed /k/
> /k/
ahahahahaha
>At least they can produce their own apc's
Soon they won't be able to.
>country who's only goal in this war is to destabilize Ukraine because Gazprom said so
Fell for the Gazprom may-may
>shitty back then less shitty now
Shit is still shit
>are you trying to say Russia isn't going bankrupt
Economic downturn != bankruptcy You're just as educated as a Bernie supporter.
>Ukraine, the EU, their president, ect,.
What he >>67853710 said.
>>
>>67854135
>swastikas
>14/88 tattoos
>constant hitler salutes
Funny way of expressing slavic nationalism, but if you say so anon...

I don't normally follow these threads, is it true Russia recalled their bombers from Syria?
>>
>>67855259
Yes, but in their absence, Russia put in attack helicopters. I would expect so see at least a squadron of fighter aircraft to stick around and provide necessary air cover.
>>
>>67855259
some of it but not all
>>
>>67829522
can someone repost the link to the blog about the Ayyash depot being captured
>>
>>67856441
already found it

>2000 rounds of 85mm ammunition

okay that would theoretically be useless to ISIS unless they dig up some ols T34, however, I suppose they'll use this shit for IEDs
>>
>>67857051
I thought there were mentions of MANPADs and ATGMs that were seized too?
>>
>>67857384
over a million rounds of AK ammo are the biggest catch, but the 85mm had me confused, but it makes sense seeing how it's a strategic cache from the 70s

I think this is a sign that the Deir Ezzor pocket is well stocked in general, who knows how many piles of ammo they have in the airbase and brigade base
>>
>>67857051
they could be recoil-less rifle rounds for all we know
>>
>>67857724
Looking through wikipedia. The Syrians also have/had D-48 field artillery. Seeing artillery has a longer service life than many other pieces of equipment, that may be a possible explanation.
