Why don't you own a gun?

I keep a .45 Acp Taurus in my car in case some Dindu or some White Trash methhead feels like harassing me. I'm occasionally harassed over the phone by East Indians and enemies of mine.

I named it after a Brazilian ex GF of mine who blew me in her Luxury car.

Get a LCP. Can be had easily for around 200, and they're pocketable, so you can have it everywhere. The gun you have is always better than the one you don't.

If you want a slightly more fun and better shooting gun look at the LCP custom. Sometimes around 220.

p-64 is no purse pistol, that's a military handgun that only stopped seeing service use somewhat recently. A high grade .38 acp cartridge is more than sufficient and the firearm is incredibly concealable. another nice poor man special is the cz999 which can be had for around $250 and will outperform the taurus by a mile, it's a 9mm 15 round and they almost always come with two magazines but it will be too big to comfortably conceal

Thanks for the tips. Not really hating on those guns, I take your word they are good but it would be funny for some jackass who wanted to start something get a bullet in his derriere, look over and see a little petit thing turned him into a little bitch.
>>
>>67815096
I felt the same way as you brother, I wanted something big, all steel, high-capacity and a larger caliber but as a thin dude I cannot conceal my sidearm. Having a full size is great if you need to go in to battle but most people carry firearms about the size of that p-64 as their daily. You should ideally have a full size and a concealable unless you are a bigger dude in which case you're probably ok just getting something big. I only recommend it because you are short on cash and seem to want something soon
>>
>>67815337
No no I get it. Just saying it would be pretty funny to put down someone who thought they were tough with a little gun. There's a simple ironic joy in that. Makes the pocket pistol a bit more attractive IMO.
>>
>>67815550
You could go the truly ridiculous route and get a doubletap (that's the actual name of the gun, can't remember the brand) for about $200. It's a little derringer that shoots .45 and I believe .410 if you choose it

I have an extension, but I don't use it very often. I'll use it sometimes, but otherwise I just wrap my pinky under the mag.

The point of the 26 is low profile for concealed carry. I would have gotten a 19 if I wanted the three finger grip.

i don't think it's illegal if it is just the buffer tube, you aren't supposed to shoulder it if there is a sig brace, but I might be out of the loop.

and no, the only problem I had is the screws keeping the sight in place loosened up real good the first time I shot it with the sight attached. gave them a few more turns and they stayed. i dont even know of a clamp for a sight that short that would have two points of contact on the rail

We really need to break this down by race and then compare the population of the most violent race between all countries. >>
>>67810614
I have three shotguns. Legally owned. Pistols are illegal here. Gun laws are fucking strict. You need background checks and licenses. Having said that, there's a gun shop in my town. It's a rural area and most people have guns. Not handguns.
Even the cops don't carry guns on regular duty. I got a traffic stop a couple of months ago and I asked the police if they were armed. They said 'oh, yeah.' and showed me guns. I was in the police car and they kept them in that compartment between the front seats. They were really friendly and didn't even charge me - I was going above the speed limit. They just ran my vehicle registration, made sure I wasn't drunk, checked my car and wished me well.

It helps being ex Army. Cops like soldiers.

Tbh, if you really believe in statistics, you will never be in a situation where you'll need a gun.

People who own guns and think I should too are like people who have an insurance policy and they think I should to.

In a very real sense also, their insurance policy also covers for me.

So basically I am a person who supports 2nd Amendment because I am not stupid and reap the benefits with only marginal cost (in the event I might actually need a gun).

I really believe though I will never need a gun.

If you had it tightened down the first time and it came loose there is a large chance that it will continue coming loose which isn't exactly a big deal but if it happens again make sure to go the Loctite route since cheap rings (and to a lesser extent the pricier ones too) will strip the little screws/allen wrench jiggers very easily and if you get it stuck it can be pretty scary putting heavy tools by your rifle and nice scope. I've been there, shit sucks.
>>
>>67821931
You don't shower with your wife?
>>
>>67824461
so the loctite just goes on the little screw before tightening down on the sight right? is there anyway to unscrew it once it's on?

We've been married for 5 years, and living together for 7. While I love the shit out of her, when I'm in the shower, I just want to get clean and get out.
>>
>>67825551
That's understandable.
>>
>>67825402
yes it goes on the screws and glues them in place. You have to apply lots of heat to it for removal but it shouldn't be enough to cause any damage to your gun or optics. I'd definitely ask around /k/ before doing it but they'll probably recommend the same thing. After mine failed to stick I ended up running to the gunsmith. I went through hell putting my first rifle together the way I wanted to. The thing was supposed to end up costing me $400 but due to not really knowing what I was doing and running in to a lot of problems it ended up costing me about $525 and completely exhausting me. I honestly never really even shot it after getting all that work done because .308 is so goddamn expensive and using a bi-pod makes it pretty impossible to miss your shot coupled with not having and long range ranges in my area but it is nice to know I have it if I ever need it.
>>
>>67825402
Yeah, just put it on the threads before you screw it down, typically either red or blue loctite is used. To remove it you just unscew it, it will be harder though when compared to a non loctited screw. If it still wont come out even with your best efforts then it can be heated using a torch to break it down. It should start to have little whiffs of blueish smoke when it gets 450-500f, this means the loctite has broken down and it can be removed easier than just powering through the glue.
>>
>>67823323
The 26 is well regarded in the world of concealed carry, and it works just fine for me IWB. I shoot it just as accurate as its bigger counterparts, and I don't mind trading a little thickness for 10+1 rounds.

I might add that I just like glocks.
>>
>>67826918
Shield has 9+1 rounds, plus has a really tight spring in the mag, so you can clip a few links off and make it a single stack 10+1 that is MUCH slimmer.

Source: I've done it.
>>
>>67825950
>You have to apply lots of heat to it for removal
No, just no. If that's true you're using the wrong loctite or you're using way WAY too much.

Normal loctite blue, applied sparingly, is all you should ever be putting inside your gun.
>>
>>67815040
Wait i thought the Tec-9 was banned in the US?
>>
>>67827186
*on your gun screws, not "inside"

Just in case someone got the wrong idea and tries to put loctite in his gun's action, lol. Loctite can be used on stuff like stock screws, optic mounting bolts/screws, and other EXTERNAL screw/bolt components if needed at all. I used some blue loctite on a Win. mod 70 .308 for the scope screws, for example.
>>
>>67810870
So do I. Working law enforcement taught me quickly that those who think they are safest and most immune to crime are some if the first and easiest targets by criminals.
>>
>>67827162
Shield has a 8+1 maximum factory mag. With mods or an aftermarket spring the best you can do is 9+1.

Why would I wan't to mod a perfectly good gun anyways, especially something critical to feed reliability?

I'll stick with my 26. I'm perfectly happy with 11 rounds compared to your 9 in a gun practically the same size.
>>
>>67815040
>C96

Man, I'd love to handle one of those in the original caliber. Not that I think the 9mm version was a bad idea, but the big red 9 on their stocks is a bit ugly to me.

That said, I'll take a gun that doesn't print, comes with the extended grip, and fires 10 rounds over a gun that is MUCH thicker but has one extra bullet.

But, like I said, the Glock 26 is a perfectly competent gun (if you don't mind pulling the trigger to take the gun down). It's just not ideal for the price point, in my opinion.

Well lets think about this, when it dries it will be hard and brittle. If the little bits of loctite create any over pressure issues the escaping gasses will vaporize the loctite. That being said, if it doesnt create any over pressure issues it will harmlessly shatter as it isnt gummy when it dries, it is hard and brittle. So either way nothing would happen.

What is inside the bolt of a bolt action rifle?

Basically a small coaxial tube where the firing pin and spring sit. If you start putting loctite up in there it's going to gum up that little tube, retarding the advance of the firing pin and maybe squeezing itself all over the place and getting caught in places where there shouldn't be shit.

I don't know where you're getting this shit about escaping gases, there are none INSIDE THE DAMN BOLT of a bolt action rifle.

I guarantee you if you start gumming shit up with loctite inside your bolt action rifle indiscriminately you're gonna have a bad time. Happens to morons who use WD-40 on their guns all the time too, that shit dries into a lacquer and attracts dirt and powder residue and whatnot, and forms a nice tarry gum.

FUCK just stick to your AR platform buddy, the grownups are talking.

hahahahahaha, holy fuck balls. Where do you think gasses go during an over pressure event? Back through the fucking bolt.

Now, lets look at the average bolt, do you honestly think that the firing pin sits in the bolt with .015 inches worth of clearence? It is wide open in there and it is wide open for a reason, so on the off chance that a bit of your primer shoots back there then it wont explode in your face. Good god, its like you dont even know the most basic safety aspects of a weapon.

The 1911 an old design that is more trouble than it is worth.

It’s a 100-year old design. It needs tools to disassemble. It has unreliable magazines. It is finicky about ammo. And, as a single-action pistol, it is unsafe for 95% of its users to carry.

Oh, and lest I forget to mention the issue with slide-stop failures, and the whole internal extractor/external extractor situation. Either of which would be serious enough to kill any other design’s reputation in the shooting world.

Steer clear of the 1911. It's a safe queen at best.

Once again fucknut, the bolt is wide open to make it so the firing pin has clearance on the inside. How would something that is brittle ever "gum" it up when it would literally shatter? Have you ever even taken your bolt completely apart and honestly looked at where the firing pin sits? Because if you had you would know that there is more than enough clearance inside of it for small shards of dried glue.

I bet you cant even turn your own replacement bolt, do you head on over to the idiots at numrich for your replacement parts instead of fabricating your own, kid?

And yet you don't argue or refute anything that I say. Lets face it, you like it because the most “realistic” shooting sports are heavily populated with 1911 users. And everyone knows that you should train like you fight, so that you will fight like you train, right? Well, that would be a more convincing argument if those “realistic” shooting sports didn’t have intricate rules that somehow disqualify most non-1911 designs. There's a bias, there.
