I will always believe that Germany can awaken again.
It was sick and degenerate in the 20's, when people thought there could be no rebirth. But one man who loved his country more than himself inspired his people to be great again, and brought it back from the darkness, into the light. I still have faith that there are many German men who still believe in the truth, and one day they will lead Germany to greatness again.

because from grade 5 to grade 13 the only topic we had in history class were, apart from a tiny excursion into weimarer republik, the horrors of the things done by hitler and for years we solely talked about the holocaust.

from being children we are taught how sick and evil the germans were which leads to many people, including me when i was younger, growing up as liberals and hating germany for its past.

I mostly got taught about WW2, too. We were also forced to watch anti-german propaganda movies / documentaries and read anti-german literature. We were also taught that Jews were prosecuted solely because of their religion. Not once was the civil war mentioned or any role the jews really played that lead to the war.

I lived and worked in Germany for 4 years. I loved it. I speak German well enough that Germans can't tell that I'm English. They say stuff like 'I know you're foreign, but I can't tell your accent'. Whatever. I love Germany but I hate what's being done to it.
