In a perfect world, SNL's cast would cycle through with fresh young telent to reinvigorate the show.
I watched the Trump episode and was thoroughly bored. So many literal whos and unfunny "comedians" on the show it was sad. Weekend Update has never been worse with that no charisma duo.

I think it has to be a writers thing. The quality between seasons fluctuates too much with minor cast changes for me to believe it's primarily the actors fault.

As for the first clip, it's clear that there's a deep current of white supremacy carrying Trump's candidacy. It's a bit fucked up of him to bank on the people's anger like this, knowing full well that this is all rooted in racism and hate. Real, actual hate politics. SNL is irrelevant for two reasons:
1) They, like a lot of mainstream media, are afraid of pushing REAL boundaries in today's politically correct climate.
2) Their style of sketch comedy has been rendered obsolete by internet comedians, who they refuse to cast for some reason.
