First, Delegates from 5 states (plus other undeclared outliers) will cast their vote at the RNC instead of during their states primary.
This isnt considered a brokered convention yet. There will just be ~150 delegates that wait to vote until official first vote of RNC.
Second, a brokered convention will only happen if Trump doesnt reach the 50%+1 majority after the first official vote. The first official vote requires all bound delegates to vote in accordance with their district or states results.
In a brokered convention, the delegates SHOULD vote in accordance with the overall winner of their state, but are not required to. This is when it will go to shit in a terrible tie between the loyalists and the conservative separatists.
Trump is not even close yet to being in danger of a brokered convention.
