I don't think you understand, Sweden. I don't care who the president is, it really doesn't matter. The president is a figurehead with very little actual power, but as a figurehead, he has the potential to be a symbolic representation of the times.
See Ronald Reagan in the 80s and Eisenhower in the 50s. Both were popular, well-remembered presidents who helped to implement programs that the republican establishment would call "socialistic", both absolutely defined their respective eras in American political and cultural life.
Trump is the only candidate offering a return to American exceptionalism and optimism. Clinton, Cruz, and Kasich are obvious globalist puppets that would sell out their own family for a 2 page write up in an 8th grade history book; Trump already has that and is giving the impression that he sincerely wants the American people to succeed.
