We will see

>The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) launched a massive offensive inside the provincial capital of the Deir Ezzor Governorate on Saturday morning, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s frontline defenses at the northwestern districts of Ayyash and Al-Bughayliyah near the western bank of the Euphrates River.

>Initially, the ISIS terrorists were relatively successful during the onset of the offensive in the provincial capital, capturing several neighborhoods and government sites inside the Al-Bughayliyah and Ayyash Districts, including the Ayyash weapons storage depot and the Ayyash fuel station that are both located to the west of the Euphrates Hotel.

>As a result of their initial success, several pro-ISIS and pro-rebel social media activists began to report that the Ayyash and Al-Bughayliyah Districts were captured by the terrorist group, despite conflicting reports from Syrian Arab Army sources inside this city in eastern Syria.

>Under duress from the ISIS assault, the Syrian Arab Army’s 137th Artillery Brigade of the 17th Reserve Division called for reinforcements from the elite 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard to help them drive out the terrorists attacking their positions in the northwestern section of the city.

>Not long after their arrival, the Syrian Arab Army’s 104th Airborne Brigade – alongside the 137th Artillery Brigade and the National Defense Forces (NDF) – beat back the encroaching ISIS terrorists, seizing the Ayyash weapons storage depot and the neighborhoods lost in the Al-Bughayliyah District.

>Sadly, as the Syrian Armed Forces recaptured the neighborhoods they lost to ISIS in the Al-Bughayliyah District, they found over 280 civilians slain by the terrorist group before they fled the scene of this horrific crime.
>>
>>61240392
cont.

>The massacred civilians had been reportedly murdered for having “ties to the regime”; meaning, many of these civilians were relatives of an SAA or NDF soldier.

>In addition to repelling ISIS at Ayyash and Al-Bughayliyah, the Syrian Armed Forces also repelled the terrorist group at the 137th Artillery Brigade’s Headquarters in Jabal Al-Thardeh.

>According to a military source in Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Armed Forces lost a total of 49 soldiers during ISIS’ offensive – the source was unable to confirm ISIS’ death toll.

That shithole just needs to be leveled. Every YPG or SAA soldier who dies while taking it would be a waste. The only people who still live there are ISIS and their islamist supporters.

Bombs aren't that cheap anymore
>>
>>61245338
When you stop and think about it, though, since Raqqa's going to end up like Dresden anyway (as all the embattled cities invariably do), there's an argument of just skipping the middle and level it like so.
>>
>>61245518
Today bombers can reliably hit their targets with limited collateral casualties so there is no need to dresden something. It is mostly a waste of perfectly good bombs.
Now, on the other hand, artillery bombing them back to the stone age in order to prepare for an assaul is entirely possible, but for that SAA would need to be right at gates of Raqqa.

Yeah me too. South front videos are well detailed and great but in every video they report on some 20 little factions and groups.

I can barely remember smaller players in this war, so I hoped somebody more knowledgeable about the war could do some quick tl;dr.

Most non cvcked nations do it. Even Indonesia has a shoot to kill policy unless the faggots surrender immediately (which they often do)

They goad the terrorists into shooting and then waste them. After that pitiful attack in Jakarta expect to hear a few more raids with dead terrorists.

The idea that doing so increases terrorism is SJW bullshit. Dying in a pile of shit without killing any infidels is not as desirable as going to prison for 10 years to radicalize 100 others.

Russia has 1 goal in Syria with their airstrikes, and that is to get rid of the rebels. This is the whole reason they are there, because Assad was losing and needed depserate backup. ISIS has NOTHING to do with it. The strikes on ISIS are rare and to tell the US to fuck off.

When Nazarbaev dies it would be a perfect opportune moment for jihadist factions to make a move. He's 75-76 years old already and there are rumors of his health failing.

>What are the chances that his heir will be secular and pro russian in equal measure?

The chances are very high. We would still be Russia's vassal. We're too close geographically, there are too many agreements signed and we're with them in Eurasian economic union as well. We pretty much know who the heir is and he's definitely a secular pro-russian guy. The period of transition of power would also give Putin a chance to secure more profit and influence here.

What I'm worried of is a possibility of terrorist attacks. Nothing major isn't likely to happen I think.

Now other Central Asian countries on the other hand. . Oh boy! They are going to see real combat unfortunately. ISIS can't just simply stop and there are shit loads of gas and oil in the region for the taking. Farther from Russia, less stable governments. Tajikistan would probably be the first.

I too feel the urge to carpet bomb the terror controlled regions but Assad and allies are supposed to be morally superior and they are.

Hey cut that out Barrel Bombs are real and Assad is satan
>>

There are plenty of stories of people who used to work for the government who are now forced to work for ISIL in keeping up the infrastructure. They didn't import engineers or other specialists, they just took the old ones. Plenty of people in Raqqa want nothing to do with ISIL, they just weren't pansies who ran.

Funny how faggots like you claim Syrians shouldn't have fled but stayed home, then make the case to kill them all alongside ISIL after they did exactly that.

2016 und immer noch Spiegel online lesen.
Noch nicht bewusst was das für ein manipulierendes Lügenmagazin ist? Die Berichterstattung und Nachrichtenauswahl ist Gehirnwäsche. Kein bisschen neutral, objektiv

Someone fill me in, I haven't been paying attention since Russia started airstrikes.

Is Russia winning? Is ISIS nearly defeated? How have the battle lines changed?
