There are many economic systems that work, capitalism works the best of the available options.
The reason for capitalism is it produces more wealth/food/income than all the other economic systems.
This is pointing to something that is most successful and calling it shit because it isn't a miracle.

Sure basic human necessitys should be fulfilled temporarily for those who are down and out. Water, food, shelter, etc. However like I said it should only be temporary they should try to find something to do it doesn't even need to be permanent work. Community service, small manual labor job, etc. Anything to keep progressing. Look at J.K. Rowling homeless but she kept working on something to pass the time properly.

The strongest case against capitalism in the west is actually the demographic one.
Western capitalist nations are committing demographic suicide via mass-immigration, and lack the will to resist.
Capitalist structures value the individual above all else. People become interchangeable economic units. Speaking out in favor of community unity against outsiders becomes an economic sin.
We could even argue that communism "inoculated" the post-communist societies of Eastern Europe against this sort of insanity, at least for a while.
Capitalism - as such - has no actual impetus to preserve cultures, to defend stable societies, to resist outside takeover by intruders, etc. Those things are all outside of its sphere of concern, which is economic growth and efficiency.
