I see it and it does look unusual. It's basically a purple haze that looks as though it's right above you.
A few reasons it's not sunrise related:
1. It's already light out and has been since before this thing appeared.
2. It's like a permanent overcast for about 90% of the year here.
3. The horizon looks normal, i.e. no haze.

The only weird atmospheric phenomenon in the sky I can see is the sun rising into a crystal clear blue sky. Guess I hadn't have lived in commiefornia for 10 years I'd be shocked too.
