It isn't. You have to fill out what's called an SF86 where they'll ask you about your family and everywhere you've lived for the past ten years -- plus a reference for each address.
Then someone from the FBI/OPM will go to your town and ask people to verify (including people who you didn't include in your references). As long as they say you weren't in a gang/trying to overthrow the government/stole work place property -- you're in the clear.

Some did it for college, some did it to escape their home towns, some did it for an adventure, others did it to support their family, but most people did it because flying is fucking fun as shit.

The reality is that most soldiers don't give a fuck about the narrative or anything political like that. The propaganda says that people join to "protect people" because we live in the West, and the West is in denial about some basic facts about human nature. In reality people join for one of two reasons:
1. They need financial security
2. They're young men, and young men are attracted to adventure, excitement and fighting
That's seriously all it is. Lots of the young guys end up redpilled because, in seeking excitement in the military, they are exposed to a massively dysfunctional bureaucracy that tramples all over the people who serve it and actively prevents good decisions from being made. They also get to see up close and personal how much of America's vaunted military might is an illusion, which exposes to them just how deeply they've been lied to since they were a child. Smarter ones will notice the consistency with which mission statements are contradicted by actual orders. They'll come away having been given a taste of manhood - something many boys lack these days - but also having been exposed to a system of corruption that would be almost comical if it wasn't getting so many people killed pointlessly. That's why so many end up redpilled.

And one day, we're going to meet an enemy who is going to take real advantage of our incompetent leadership and deal us a shocking blow that's going to leave us reeling and expose how truly weak we are. Yea I agree higher ranking leadership in the military overall is a joke nowadays there aren't chesty pullers anymore. I partly blame this on our own gov. Though due to how many high ranking people are forcefully retired for whatever reasons and alot of the times those high ranking people that are forcefully retired are military members that actually have a background of combat and actual leadership and going through the shit with their troops. I had a 1st Sgt in afgan that was a complete badass that I will respect until I die he was constintly going out on patrols with us and constintly checking on all his troops to make sure they where being taken care of. It seemed like a disgrace when he was forced to retire at 25 years. The corps and his troops was his life and he loved every bit of it. But it only seems like the people that are actually able to stay in as long as they want to anymore are those that have been in bullshit administration jobs and don't actually give a fuck about their troops it's sad.
