A surgeon and a nurse would have drastically different salaries for obvious reasons, however a male and female surgeon/nurse would be paid the same assuming same hours and work input.

Both my sisters are poorly educated and work minimum wage jobs, but both has husbands that earn good money and work hard for them (at least they work I guess) and live in much better conditions than I could afford myself (at least for a few years).
