Hyper inflation would shock people into it faster.
I don't advocate that, but it seems that's where we are headed.
The best way would be to revoke the Fed's charter and let people use whatever money they want. Sure most would still use the dollar at the beginning, but with legal tender laws gone and monetary policy being what it is, people would decide pretty quick on an alternative.
