Socialism is more popular, so it will probably win.

Capitalism works and socialism doesn't, so it's obvious Rand will win. Bernie has an IQ of 85 and is senile, Rand is a Dr. and a handsome young man.

Sanders and his commie fag followers don't understand that you must sacrifice economic security to obtain true, objective personal freedom. This was a particularly popular belief back in the Enlightenment all the way to the 1820's or so. Now, workers want to claim, "Education as a right, healthcare as a right, authoritative equality for all," at any cost whatsoever, even if it means turning violent such as what is happening at Mizzou.

Required readings for Liberty:
The Law by Bastiat
The Road to Serfdom by Hayek
The Declaration of Independence by Jefferson
Common Sense by Thomas Paine

Anyways, to summarize, true liberty requires economic sacrifice. And because of the way our society and culture is today, they are willing to elect a literal socialist that goes against everything that America was founded on.

I'm not really saying which is better, but there is trade off. That is why Bastiat said that there can be no fraternity because fraternity corrupts equality.

No, indeed for individual liberty.

Summary of Bastiat's The Law:
>In The Law, Bastiat says "each of us has a natural right – from God – to defend his person, his liberty, and his property". The State is a "substitution of a common force for individual forces" to defend this right. The law becomes perverted when it is used to violate the rights of the individual, when it punishes one's right to defend himself against a collective effort of others to legislatively enact laws which basically have the same effect of plundering.

Summary of The Road to Serfdom:
>[Hayek] further argues that the abandonment of individualism and classical liberalism inevitably leads to a loss of freedom, the creation of an oppressive society, the tyranny of a dictator, and the serfdom of the individual. Significantly, Hayek challenged the general view among British academics that fascism (and National Socialism) was a capitalist reaction against socialism. He argued that fascism, National Socialism and socialism had common roots in central economic planning and empowering the state over the individual.

Bastiat was before Marx's Das Kapital, friend and still his point stands. Any law giving protection of a certain group is plundering from another through taxation or the liberty of another. Hayek's book was in 1944 and indeed on political organization. However, he concedes on a few things regarding laissez-faire, and displacement of workers due to technology, etc.

How the hell do you argue against Socialism when it has no rigorous definition, no agreed upon framework, no math, and (according to socialists) never been practiced.

What? Marx is not an anarchist, you dumb shit. Do you understand libertaranism and its origins? They were against Marx and the First International... and they were American styled "libertarians" (right wing), they were anti-capitalists. Right wingers came along and usurped a label, sprinkled bs capitalist rhetoric, and called themselves anarchists (aka the origin of European libertarianism.

Doesn't matter where Rand is in the race, if you're confident in what you believe in you can debate anyone just for the publicity. Jesus, you are retarded. Are you arguing for the sake of it? Here we go.

>That's not an answer.
Yes, it is. Neither of them in those books I mentioned are talking about capital. There is a whole wide variety on what YOU are referring to, but you are wrong on what I am referring to. Read the original post where I took my statements from.

>Wut. Go away, bible thumper. Slavery was justified with you morons.
This confirms you never read Bastiat. He is against the United States' slavery and import tariffs. And I'm not religious. That was a summary of his book, not mine. But many Enlightenment thinkers held the idea that we had natural rights. Whether they are "God given" is a whole different story. Also, Bastiat was French.

>Bahaha, classical liberalism brought us slavery, genocide, indentured servitude, child labor, land stealing (see North, Central, and South America).... gimmie a break, kid.
Sounds more like colonialism brought us those, not classical liberalism. You seem to misunderstand classical liberalism, kid. Hayek was Austrian and later had a British citizenship by the way.

So neither are "American-styled" as neither were fucking American, kek.

>What? Marx is not an anarchist, you dumb shit.
I never said he was. I said Bastiat was before Marx. I understand Marx has the labor theory of value in regards to exploitation of the worker.

> Do you understand libertaranism and its origins?
Sure do. Seems, however, you don't, kek.

Capitalism is the foundation of economics. Socialism aka govt regulation only should ever happen in case of market failure. Market failure is as follows

Monopoly
Oligopoly
Natural monopoly
Negative externalities
Positive externalites
Asymetric information

This is well known if you are an actual economist.

If you are advocated for govt intervention when one of these 6 things is not occuring you are an idiot.

Sounds like you don't know who classical liberals and capitalist origins. Capitalism has always required a strong central government to prop it up.

And I'm the retarded on, rofl. Even Murray Rothbard admits anarchism boils down to socialism, and how "anarcho"-capitalists can't apply the label. It's a mockery of philosophy and ideology.

Go away aspie.

His father also said the same thing and changed his mind... it's completely meaningless when they do nothing about. You can talk all day about it... but it's results I care about.

And what results has Rand brought us? Nothing. But you applaud him for talking for some reason. I hear better arguments/rhetoric on 4chan... but I don't feel the urge to suck their cock and hand out money to them.

Bro, I couldn't understand your ramblings. I'm not looking for perfection, just basic communication standards.

But beyond that, I don't really see why Ron changing his mind on term limits would suggest Rand will. Not to mention that Rand is one of the few Senators who really sticks by his points and tries to push legislation through that will get it done, and strongly opposes bullshit like taking off the debt ceiling. He's got 20 co-sponsors on his Audit the Fed bill now, including Ted Cruz.

So, I guess I don't know what you actually want from a politician. I'm guessing you just post on /pol/ because /b/ is shit now.

Even if Bush goes after him with his ~$100M Superpac, Trump can self-fund to defend himself easily and counterattack which is something all of the non-Rmoney candidates couldn't do in 2012.
