But the SJW trend isn't about that. You don't need to be OK with that stuff as your default setting to get sucked down that whirlpool. It feeds on and grows by the human need to belong, to have a "clan", and to have an enemy to scream about.
To an extent, it's harder for someone on the right to fall in with these people, but it happens. They take on views that are not their own so they can fit in with the largest, most powerful group they regularly interact with. Being surrounded by that group, stuck as an outsider, wears them down. They're not going to find the right-wing support group they need, and the FOX News echo chamber is a paltry substitution for interaction with people all around you. While the SJWs may not be a majority on a given campus, they will be the largest "group" that aligns themselves under any banner, and by far the loudest and most demanding; it's the allure of that big, "powerful" clan that sucks people in and turns them into little puppets.

Voter verification doesn't do a damn thing. Most people don't look at their print-out to verify, and the machine can print one thing while recording another. Just because your screen and print-out say you voted for A doesn't mean there isn't a vote recorded for B, or that it's not going to get flipped at some later point. They can print multiple votes, too.
Optical scanning of paper ballots are far better, but less wide-spread. They still can't prevent abuse, though. All they do is allow you to audit the computer's tabulation by checking the paper ballots, but you have to know to do this to begin with.

Funny, I was a history undergrad (not at a liberal school though) and the academia was surprisingly open, I can remember one instance of a class I took of a younger woman being a professor in a class I took on fascism, grew up in boston and was a fairly fresh phd from yale and the class, while she phrased things fairly delicately, seemed to almost embrace a lot of the philosophies and even seemed to promote an apologetic view towards people directly involved in perpetrating the holocaust. She would also get smirky when this flamer in class would tried to point out perceived homoeroticism in some of the archival footage we watched and when he would mention his gayness lel.
One of my favorite professors was a jew who regularly through random yiddish into his lectures, his focus was in early american history and he came across as a great admirer of jefferson to the point he was basically justifying the mindset of slaveowners as simply being born in the system same as slaves.
I also remember taking a law class as an elective that dealt with indian law, and the prof made several reminders on the right of conquest and how he felt the injuns got a fair shake lol
