Do you dispute Syria was a very pro-Russian state prior to all this?
Do you claim Assad committed war crimes? If so, are you aware that the UN has changed its original stance on this and has filed a report saying the toxic gas was used by the rebels instead?
Are you aware that Obama and Cameron's original stance was a large scale boots on the ground invasion of Syria? Are you aware of the boycott by Europeans and Americans (many of whom were U.S marines) against the intervention, based on the fact that Al Qaeda was the biggest fighting opponent of Assad at the time and Americans and Europeans alike refused to help Al Qaeda?
Are you aware that the two biggest fighting forces in Syria are the Syrian army and ISIS? Given this information, would you not say ISIS would take over all of Syria if the Syrian army was eliminated? Even if we were to assume Assad has committed the alleged war crimes, does this not make the quick defeat of ISIS the only real option? Would you not agree that a swift end to the war and resumption of diplomatic activities is our best shot?
Are you also aware that the rebel alliance openly contains many jihadist groups that oppose ISIS based only on self-interest? Are you aware that the rebels are also backed by Al Qaeda, one of the longest running adversaries of the U.S?
Are you aware Turkey has been supplying, trading with, and arming ISIS? Are you aware that Saudi Arabia, a full monarchy and long time ally of the U.S, has been supplying arms to ISIS? Are you aware the religious ideologies of ISIS and Saudi Arabia wahhabists are identical?

My dad served in the military and their whole training was "atom bomb left, atom bomb right" which is the command to get prone on the other side, usually into mud or cow shit.
