It's more just that politicians are legitimately stupid. The way Trump speaks you can just tell he's from private industry. The people I work with have similar assertion and mastery of words. Trump's tactics are really smart, and what he's doing is impressive, but for example liberals act like it's impossible that there could be strategy behind him reading "the snake." The projects I work on as an engineer (as part of a team) are worth "only" millions and we apply more advanced strategy practically every day.
Trump is running for president, there's a hell of a lot more at stake, he's also responsible for projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars, not only that but he's the fucking LEADER on such projects. He's the best of the best. If my lowly team is strategizing and solving complex logistics problems all the time, I can't even imagine the level on which someone like Trump is operating.
Politics and private industry are worlds apart.
This picture is a liberal backlash waiting to happen.
