Actually most of the information of classical Arabian/South Mediterranean knowledge comes from regions outside of that area. With the spread of Islam and a common Arabic language along with mass burnings of books in 'heretical' languages or with information that went against Islamic teachings, almost all of that information was lost to time. Kinda like how it's openly known that Pythagorean theorem wasn't made by Pythagoras and that he just brought it over to Greece (he even says so in his books, referencing how the Egyptians used it in pyramid construction), but we have no fucking clue who/what he took the knowledge from specifically, so no one can think of a better name.
