Now, everyone enjoys finding the tiniest possible compartment to describe who they are and claim it as the lowest place on earth, where the shit runs downhill to, and they're proud of it.

I fell like shit really started going downhill around 2002 and just got worse over time but really started to accelerate in the last couple years.
Honestly everyone is just getting shittier. Look up the mouse utopia experiment. Society will collapse by the end of our lifetimes most likely.
