Small satellite cities around the larger metropolis tend to be very nice (Dripping Springs, Boerne, Wimberley, Rockwall, ect). These are where the wealthy commute from to avoid the shitty inner-city riff-raff. These are the places I think of when I think Texas. Super urban areas like houston are just like any other urban area, and can be easily avoided if your line of work doesn't require you to be there.
