For example they randomly had black people in the crowds that they always zoomed in on, they added that girl elf to the plot, and all the orcs were white skinned with blue eyes. I recently just got into my annual "LOTR" kick that usually occurs around the fall or winter. Strange that the boards seem to be in the same gears as me. I love all three films but this is probably my favorite sequence of all three. To me, it's the perfect representation of why the Trilogy is so great. The action, the acting from the cast, the location, the practical effects, the monsters and the writing. Poignant stuff and great world building.

The point of a book is partially you doing just that. If you get really into reading it kinda becomes a movie as you can put your imagination and the authors descriptions to use and create something quite unique to you.
