>Recordings of people hysterically laughing had to be inserted into the critically panned first episode of the BBC2 motoring show when the around 500-strong large crowd failed to laugh at jokes by new presenter Evans and his sidekick Matt LeBlanc.

>One glaring example of the fake chuckles came when the Friends star made a joke about Top Gear and Lawrence of Arabia.

>During filming, Evans even had to plead with the crowd as they refused to laugh, telling them: “If you find things vaguely funny or you think they were supposed to be funny please laugh.

>"That would be great.”

kek this is fucking Jeb!-tier antics 'please laugh!'

It's really strange hearing a laughter track play when you can see the audience standing behind him wearing poker faces.

Kinda feel sorry for them actually. There's no way they could follow the old crew. May Hammond and especially Jeremy made that whole show what it was. BBC is just trying to suck more money out of something that they destroyed in the name of political correctness.

They're trying but it will never be the same. I feel sorry LeBlanc and whoever else is with him because no matter what they do it will never be great again, even if they're passionate about it. BBC fucked everything up for the sake of playing nice. I hope the network crashes and burns
>>

>>

It's pretty common for studio audiences to be asked to "laugh louder" during filming.

I was an audience member for QI and they asked us the same thing, despite most people finding it quite funny anyway

If you were offered their job would you decline? I'm sure LeBlanc wants to make a great show that people will enjoy and is likely even passionate about cars. But the fact that BBC is just exploiting the gimmick for money means it will never be what it was and people won't enjoy it, which is just kinda depressing if you think about.

Next time, on "When people pander to SWJs, we have an inside look at a failing games company, another once funny show no longer being watched, and ALL NEW looks inside marvel, and their declining comic book sales".

Everyone thinks there is a legbeard market, but there is not.

The only thing you can sell to legbeards is magazines about having legbeards and how evil men are.
Tryin' to make anything else pander to them will only deter current consumers.

She could out drive all the others guys and knows her stuff, she's the best choice out of the new line up, maybe the only good choice.

But unfortunately Clarkson did ruin things by punching one of his producers in the face over something trivial. None of us would get away with that at our workplace, and being popular and famous is not a good enough reason to sweep it under the carpet.

Political correctness has killed Top Gear. But some of the press have been using it as a means to attack the BBC, they leap on everything Clarkson says or doesn't say. That fuss about him audibly saying 'nigger' in a nursery rhyme when it was supposed to be muffled - it was cut from the programme before broadcast and he apologised for it anyway. Yet the press and others with an axe to grind wouldn't let it go.

American television is 80% adverts, is cheesy as fuck and damn near unwatchable.
>>
>>76170397

The new Top Gear is very American centric.

I've not seen the actual American version so I cant help you there.

>An anonymous audience member told the Sun: “The episode made it sound as though we were in fits of hysterics throughout the recording, but that is far from the truth.”

>Audience data seen by the newspaper apparently showed it had an appreciation index score of 60, which is considered poor. Programmes on BBC2 averaged a score of 82, making Top Gear the worst rated programme of the week, the Telegraph reported.

The only decent person on the new Top Gear is Matt, and that's because he actually has experience with and cares about cars.

Plus he's an actor, so he at least knows how to get into a role, unlike Chris who uses force of personality which does not appeal to a lot of people when he isn't funny.

This is a profoundly good thing.

The market wanted the original top gear, the BBC used firing Clarkson as virtue signaling leftist bullshit, the team left and took a huge amount of business with them, someone was smart enough to pick them all up for a new show which will blast top gear to pieces.

It's the free market actually operating in a sane way to give people what they want which is perfect, now if people all pay for subs to the new show that'll be awesome.
>>
>>76170363
They should get Jeb to present.
>>
>>76174545
the problem with that new show is that its on amazon video and who the fuck bothers with amazon video

shoulda gone for netflix, or even a web original with ads (god knows theyd probably get plenty from the auto industry to shill anyway)
>>
>>76174611
Amazon might sell the show to other networks I guess.
>>
>>76174611
Well I don't personally but I'm more likely to now that they're putting on quality content that people want to see. Hopefully as really big networks like netflix grow and get more compeition we'll see online exclusive stuff being sold between the networks to expand viewership through whatever service you prefer.

BBC will go the way of the dinosaurs as they lose money to less and less people bothering with TV subs.
>>
>>76171410
half the main cast are jews

not me, but I know a few people with firesticks and prime subs, pretty sure they'll get a few extra subs just for jezza, and you get some other shit too

also, they are one of the top retailer in the world, and they can advertise on their own site for free

maybe they'll even offer it for free a week later or soemthing
>>
>>76174889

Why is OP lying about canned laughter being used? It is absolutely false. Here, just read this:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2016/06/04/top-gear-reboot-boosted-by-canned-laughter-as-viewers-brand-it-t/

>Evans wrote: “The new Top Gear is a hit. OFFICIALLY. 23% audience share. 12% MORE than the opening episode of the last series. These are the FACTS."

>A Top Gear spokesman said: "There were no awkward silences during filming as reported by The Sun newspaper which clearly has an agenda against the show.
>The BBC said all laughter is taken from the studio audience and no artificial laughter is used.

This is the reality of the situation. The new Top Gear is hilarious. FACT. There is literally nothing you can say that weighs heavier than the OFFICIAL word from the BBC.
