The problem is that creationism and christianity are the most salient problems in the western world. Now that something else is becoming a bigger issue, they are discussing it more and more.
Of course, most christians and creationists only focus on the videos that oppose their views, and so they think atheists are out specifically against them and no one else.

When Islam started to become a genuine physical threat in their own countries instead of to just solely Israel and each other.
Prior to going after Islam, Christianity was perceived as the bigger threat to western Atheists.
As for "progressive" leftists and feminists, they came under fire from YouTube Atheists when those groups demanded that all Atheists follow a particular agenda (see: Atheism Plus). It was then YouTube Atheists applied their critical thinking skills to those groups instead of just closing ranks around their tribe no matter how they act like certain other atheists still do.

I don't know when, but there is two sides of this.
either one of them saw what kind of faggots the atheists movement attracted, i.e the progressive leftists, feminists etc.
and wanted to distance themselves from it as much as possible, because there are other big names in the so-called atheist movement like Dawkins that is a complete shitlord and hates those people also.
and then there is people like Penn Jilette that is completely fine with all the faggotry, he calls himself a liberal atheist but really really wants the government to crack down on mean people and give Gays special benefits to "even out the playing field"
the Atheism+ stuff is going to crack and there is going to be a split once again.
Lefties made an attempt to take over and "correct" organized athiesm like they have with video games since then and infuse it with feminism and try to shift the general anti-thiesm into specifically anti-Christianinty and not anything else, namely shifting it away from Islam. They attacked a few big names like Dawkins and threw a shit fit about the "elevatorgate" incident, acting like some beta athiest awkwardly asking out a chick in an elevator for coffee was some great crime against women. They formed gay little movements like atheism+ to try to force this shit and a lot of atheists who had been around in the scene for a while weren't buying it.

Feminists tried coopting the movement and tried to make it about themselves. All feminism is about increasing the power and privileges of rich women, never forget that.
They may claim justice but humans don't do "justice" they do "power" and they do it well.

Also, you have to look at it from a practical business standpoint. Youtubers and such want to get views. They know they have to go with the changing tides. I'm not saying they are pretending to have certain views in order to be popular, but they evolve over time along with everyone else.
The big push for religion-bashing was partly a response to religious extremism seen in 9/11 and such. But as time went on it became a dead horse, and feminism started cropping up its ugly 3rd-wave head. So all the atheist youtubers starting focusing more and more on that, because it became the newest "big" form of mass delusion. Feminism and socjus are basically a religion, after all. The next big "ism" that will be lampooned by people across the net will be progressivism itself. Especially with all the "it's 2015!!!" stuff happening right now. It'll be a natural reaction
