Really depends on the scene, but there are other ways of getting around such things.
I agree, isolating these 3 people is ideally what you'd want, but that framing doesn't work for me. I think a broader shot at a larger aperture would have worked better.

I think a lot of these photos are actually pretty good. Technically sound, well composed and framed. The main problem between I see all of them is of course the subjects. While some photos standout and are nice, together most of them just scream school campus photos.

the others suffer from a mix of shit light and typical beginner cluttered urban environment composition
also the architecture photo style you're trying to pull off is generally shit and you'll eventually get bored of it
look up negative/positive space
