Longtime lurker / occasional shitposter here... figured it was time to post some shots my GF and I have taken over the years.
I'll just go through some of my favorites from the site... forgive the disgusting watermarks, they are because we got tired of having to explain to people who took each shot.
This is just a hobby. I've been doing it for about 14 years, her about 4. We have sold some prints for charity, but that's about it.
No captives, just wildlife.

I generally find you to be abrasive and frequently wrong when you post on here, but I love these photos. Very well done.
A bit clinical, and lacking environment and great powerful light, but I understand the time sink stuff like this can be when you're trying to make it "perfect", and since it's just a hobby, it makes sense.

Just get out as much as possible, man. Even if it's just a few hours on a weekend. Half of our shots are with 70-300 f/5.6 or 105 f/2.8 as well, so just use what you have.
We always just consider getting a shot as a bonus... being outside is rewarding enough. Wildlife is sparse up these parts (shit soil, exposed granite, scrub everywhere) so it's a good attitude to have or we'd get frustrated.
Go find somewhere with evidence of raptors and set up a blind.

Just a reversing ring with the proper thread size for the lens you are using.
Not all lenses are going to work well. I use a few, but mainly 35 and 50mm Nikkors. D lenses are best because you can control the aperture. When I use a G lens, I just keep the lever open with an elastic.
All you really have to worry about is impacting the element, because you can easily lose situational awareness. That fly was under an inch from the glass.

We have the most top 10 and top 20 unis in the world by a large margin. And they're easier to get admission into as weel. I know a Chinese grad student in engr and his undergrad uni in China's acceptance rate is a fraction of a percent. Like .5-.6%. Harvard's is 10 times that. I asked him what he thought about Sanders' free college schpiel and he said in China uni is a lot cheaper but wages are much lower as well. That's why he wants to come work here, but he wouldn’t be able to get those sweet paying jobs that require a security clearance.

What about total number of schools vs number of quality schools? What about population of the country vs people graduating from the top schools? because people get degrees in shit like literature and don't make it as writers, which is fucking difficult, and people get degrees just to "go to college" with no direction or intended career path. I think we need better education, but at a lower level. Too many people go to college that don't need to. People think they need to go to uni to make good money, when you can be an electrician or a welder and make 100k-200k a year. If you know what you want to do in terms of making a career, you invest in your human capital to make it happen. It's not like you can't learn everything online anyway, or by reading book from the library. The cost of uni is high because professors need to be paid, and there is an incredible wealth of materials, research, and equipment available that normally would never be available to a person not attending. Where else would you be able to tell an employer you got experience with ultra high vacuum systems, or plasma-facing materials? It's because of the government subsidisation of education in the U.S. that the tuition prices are so expensive. The schools know the government is paying for a lot of kids, be it through scholarships, grants, etc. and they jack the prices because they're going to get the money regardless, because they're not going to just see nobody come. Someone will always fill that seat in the classroom, whether they're a student from in state, out of state, or an international transfer.
